Backpacking Northern Colorado in late October

Hey guys, sorry, this is pretty specific. But I'm going backpacking towards the end of October and I live in Fort Collins. I've never gone this late in the year and I'm wondering if any of you know of any good places in northern Colorado to backpack in late October where the chances of ending up in a blizzard are a bit less likely? I know there is no weather guarantee in Colorado... ever. But if any of you have any experience with any of the conditions I mentioned, that would be great. Thanks!

What length are you looking for? Both the Never Summers and the Lawn Lake's trailhead in RMNP are good options. As for the snow/blizzard, if anywhere is cold and snowy, they all will be. Just check the forecast, bring warm clothes, and avoid exposed areas if a storm rolls in.

Make sure to bring warm, quality clothes. Extras as well, can't express that enough. There's always a chance that it could start snowing on you at any point while you're hiking and you want to be prepared. Have a quality winter tent and sleeping bag. If you're backpacking through the Rockies, it can get extremely cold during the night, even in October.

You are going to be cold as fuck, guaranteed. So just bring lots of warmth.
