Avicii diss had me cracking up, because it's horrifically true. You're right in the sense that these people ruin the vibe, but you're wrong in assuming that everyone is like this. Sydney gets the worst of it (from what I've heard Stereo brisbane is extremely different to Stereo Sydney...probably because of the lebz). Never been to stereo. People should take drugs to enhance, not create. That's another discussion
Having said that, Future 2012 or 13 was the best festival experience I've had, essentially sober too as I only took in 1 go-gurt of vodka. Main stage aswell. 20m from the front and the crowd was super respectful, everyone had their own space. You just need to get out of the shitty 'dance tents' and 'boiler rooms' where possible, because that's where the kiwifruits gravitate to.
As you rise through the ranks of 'harder' electronica, you get a greater population of bellends, where you finally arrive at SKrillEX and a bunch of bros asking WHERES THE FUCKEN DROP BRO as he plays sum groovy choon.
Just went to Above and beyond ABGT150 in Sydney - crowd was awesome. Very close to the front, everyone had their own space, everyone had a sick time. I'd say that trance, being the softer side, brings out the better in people. Maybe try going to a sideshow (if that's kind of what it's called? not a general 'EDM festival') outside of syd and see what it's like.
I think the costume stuff is cool, albeit a little played out, depending on what it is (headdress lol fukkof). To hate someone for putting glitter on their face is a little unwarranted.

I enjoy an annual EDM festival and I am farrrrrrrr from a bro and I leave my phone in the car so your generalizing is hurting my head. People dress up at festivals because nobody gives a fuck! Except people like you, that is why people do it at festivals - to avoid haters like yourself. And I hate to break it to you but people dress up for all concerts and shows. Go to a country concert and tell me what you see. You'll see chicks in cowboy boots and cowboy hats and theyve never been on a horse. You'll see flannels and it's not even cold out. People dress up - it is fun. Try it sometime.
And the vibes at shows is unreal. Most people are nice as fuck and I find that across the board for any festival. I have met the nicest people at festivals. The fact you said "no respect for other people" tells me you've never been to an event like Tomorrowworld. I have met people at every festival I have been to that I now call friends.

Imma be honest, festies are the most annoying group of 17-25 year olds in America. I want to hear the artists I like, not revel in a molly/cocaine/acid induced slut hunting bro fest. Well said. I went to 13 and 14 TW and ML. They really were magical to me. 14 TW was the single greatest weekend of my life. If you can't enjoy this type of thing then stay away, people complain about these events sound so lame like a bunch of hipsters circle jerking about how core they are. Fuck edm it's soo mainstream broo. I didn't witness a single fight both times at both events. People were kind, non judgmental sharing, friendly you name it. I go to a martial arts gym, I don't lift weights.

Beer, weed, extra camping chairs, you name it, it is for anyone. That is how festivals are. People become family. Just this last festival, another NS user had noone to go with so he came with us. It was an amazing fucking weekend. We met two other dudes who were there solo who also made our camp home for the weekend. We met two other dudes next door who also made our chilling area home. Not to mention the countless people who kept stopping by to chill because we welcome everybody. Most people at festivals welcome everybody.

Your friends don't know what they're getting. No matter how pure they think their pills or caps are there is no way of knowing for sure. You can lie to yourself and say you know what is in the drug or you can face reality. I remember about a year ago, this cocaine was doing rounds in my home suburb and people were claiming it to be the best and cleanest coke they've ever done. Turns out it was cut with glass shards and laundry detergent. But at that time people were convinced it was the best coke ever all because the glass cut their nose and allowed the coke to absorb faster.
And no I don't believe in vibes. Everyone has a different opinion and personalities. Like for me personally I won't really talk to you at a party if I don't know you. Yeah the majority of people at festivals are pretty nice. I'm mainly talking about EDM festivals as that certain genre of music seems to draw the biggest crowd of dickheads. And those dickheads have ruined EDM for me and is the number one reason why I don't go to EDM festivals anymore.

My friends do know what they are getting based on user reviews and test kits. If you do the proper research, pressed pills have a history and can be tracked to who made them. We're not talking buying white powder from the first Joe Schmo who comes by. I am talking known pressed pills with whatever percentage of pure mdma mixed with a small percentage of speed. I wouldn't expect you to be able to comprehend this because you keep making assumptions. These RC's scumbags sell aren't going to fool a test kit.

My first reaction is nervousness and insecurity but then I open up and make great friends. Like I said, I only go to one EDM event a year and it happens to be magical. Besides that I go to jam shows/fest. The people are very similar. Both very nice and friendly. Of course the EDM fest have more people who workout or hit the gym but working out=/=dumb meat head. That whole stereotype was created by people who feel insecure about their own bodies so they pretend having muscles makes you dumb.Actually, the meatheads who I have come in contact with at shows are usually just as friendly and looking for a good time.
I am telling ya, if you open up a little there is a whole new world out there. Fest aren't for everyone, but please if you're not going to lighten up and try a camping fest, at least stop spewing nonsense about them.
