I'm currently using iMovie for all my edits and it's all good and stuff, but i just wanna know what else is out there that offers more options than iMovie

iMovie is awful. It does the trick, but I have free editing apps on my phone that work just as well, or better than iMovie. Final Cut Pro seems to be the #1 choice.

And that's perfectly fine. You're not making prefessional edits with pro riders. Some people just like the profesionalism.

You should use Adobe Creative Cloud. Its super cheap and has a monthly plan for like $30.

If you're not making money of it, who cares, download a "free" copy.... FCP is super easy to install.

I think there's also Premiere Elements, kinda a cheap version of premiere. It's only 60 bucks, but since it's a stripped down version I don't know how it compares to just using iMovie, which is surprisingly decent for a free app.

Final Cut is almost as bad as iMovie. Get yourself a student membership to Adobe Creative Cloud and learn yourself Premiere Pro. Or if you're really feeling rich, Blackmagic Design seems to have come out with something incredible with the new version of Davinci Resolve.

If you've been using iMovie, Final cut is almost intuitive. Really it comes down to personal preference and what plugins you are willing to buy/ download for it. I started using Final cut last year after my Advanced Broadcasting teacher (Great guy btw) Downloaded it on to my laptop for me. Overall its nice but its super messy and duplicates files unless you turn it off. also the audio analyzer that comes with it is pretty bad. so in all its great if you're willing to get a few plugins and learn how to use it properly before you start working on a bunch of projects

Best 3 editing softwares are Final Cut, Sony Vegas, and The Adobe programs...AE...AP...etc
If you have an apple computer which I'm guessing I would recommend adobe premiere and after effects because they are relatively easy to learn, especially Adobe premiere.... I have found Vegas and final cut a little hard for people to transition into at first with out watching a bunch of tutorials or taking a class.... If you don't want to get the program's illegally.... Look into a student discount if you are in high school or collage... Good luck....I have used all editing softwares and they all are great! Hope this helps!

I use final cut, You can pay 300$ or just look up a tutorial on youtube and get it for free without any strings attached

get adobe premiere. it has endless possibilities and a million times better than iMovie. final cut x is a step way back from final cut 6-7. if you really wanna make solid edits its worth the $$

i use videopad video editor. It's free and it's great but idk if its still downloadable and it takes super long to render videos

Personally I think Monthly plans are ridiculous. In a little over a year you already start to spend more money on the program than buying it new. Granted if you get other perks with it it may be worth it but its almost better to just pay extra upfront and get a software you can use basically indefinitely

It depends on two main things. If you care about having the newest version of the software and how much you will be using it. The big benifit with the sub system is if your doing odd jobs but not working all the time you can pay a little to have the newest software while you need it. Paying $20 for a month is better then $1500 upfront if you will only be making money back on it some of the time.

I use premiere pro and love it. Started with iMovie, then moved on the final cut x then after that premiere pro! Now i can't even use iMovie or final cut cuz i dont remember all the shortcuts or if they had all the shorcuts.. You should definitely invest in Adobe Creative Cloud if you're really getting in to editing

You can get adobe premiere Cs2 for free, adobe posted it along with all the other CS2 programs for free is what ive heard.

It is about 350$ but if you are not against using sites like pirate bay than you can get the full version for free, it is the best software, pair it with motion 5 (50% on app store) you can create almost anything seen in high end movies

Hi Alex! The issue you are asking about does not seem like it is something coming from the NLE itself. Blackmagic Design has certain system requirements, in order to run this software properly.

Please provide me with your system's hardware information to help determine your issue. Thanks!
