Lookn 4 recomendations for new Boots/Bindings

hey guys im looking to upgrade my bindings and boots this year been riding the same pair for like 8 years . got a set of LOOK bindings a few yrs ago never even got em on my skis and then someone stole them LOL..

*so my question is im looking for recommendations on what you guys think the best/most comfortable/ most reliable boots/bindings are....

**I really like the Full tilt Descendants series of boots
**and im looking for a good/reliable set of bindings from Look.

Recommendations for look Bindings and Full Tilt Boots...?????

***im a regular skier i free ride and freestyle.***

Boots just go to a fitter and find out what fits. Untill you do that we can't help much other then throwing random boot names at you.

Binding wise it it will depend on your size and ski style but I woul bet a 12din will work. Take your pick from griffons, attack 13, sth2 13, fks/px 12. All those should be good unless your using a very high or low din.

yeah thank you, as far as sizing and fit and everything i have all that info im good on that , I just been skiing the same Solomon boots and bindings for like ten years and they are old and worn out and heavy,

so i guess i was looking more for suggestions on what ppl think are the better, more reliable ones....

as in performance/flex/comfort/...etc.

just trying to see what other people use and would recommend for another advanced freestyle/freeride skier.

You may think you know what for you need but honestly untill you get your footin a shell you can't really know the fit. I test loads of boots and although I know roughly what I need everything I get fits differently and needs work to some extent. Workin. As a fitter that is fine and also free but if you don't work in a shop don't risk it. Go try some boots and find out which will be good options. reber too trying on a boot is not having it fitted. Fittin takes place once you find a good starting point.

In terms of durability most boots are good these days. Obviously a 70 flex won't be as tech as a higher end say 120flex boot but gettin the right boot is far more important then any features it may havE.

but i figured i throw a thread up here and see what other people had to say.

Fair enough but honestly whatever we have to say has no real relevance as we don't have your foot.

I ski in a few pairs my favourite of which currently is the salomon MTN lab. but will that be good for you, very unlikely.

Best at advice we can give is sit down with the best fitter in your mates shop and go through the entire process. Footbeds are essential for a good fit so make sure you at least get somthing to replace the stock insole.

If you have specific fit questions we may be able to help but in terms of selecting a boot for you we cant really help without seeing your feet.

Yeah I can tell you about the features of a boot but can't give you any real help on fit. The way we evaluate if a boot will work is by checking various elements of the fit against your foot. A lot of the time I don't even need customers to try a boot on as what you can tell me about how tey feel is almost irrelevant. A good fitter will advise what will work and really they will select the boot for you. A good fitter will always recomend custom footbeds as without you can't ensure what the foot is doing in the boot.

When i first made the post it seemed like a logical question. but seeing as i haven't bought boots in ten years , i forgotten the whole fitting process and everything. and now after talking to you its more clear that the BEST way to do this is not online, but to go actually sit down with him and go throught all the different options...

thats the other thing my insoles in my old boots are not stock, but they are just as old as the boots and yes the insole part is very important. thank you for reminding me.

Oh yeah for sure, never buy boots online ever.

Boots have come on a long long way since your old ones so there are ao many good options. Don't look for a park boot either look for a boot which fits. A race boot if it fits the best could be the best park boot for you.

And ns yeah I would say footbeds really are the biggest factor. Get those right and everything else becomes easier.

You have it. Boots are boots. Some may have features such as extra paddin which could be good for park but if the boot does not work for you no amount of extra padding will help.

I have skied in all sorta of boots and they have all worked in the park. Fit and flex will be the biggest factors and these are so individual to you that whatever other people use won't help.

That is pretty big. We very early sell boots that big but who knows maybe you are that size. Make sure you get measured.

Looks like Tom has you covered for boots. Binding wise Look makes like 2 or 3 bindings for all mountain/park/whatever. I'd recommend pivot 12s or axial 12s. Also Attack 13s, salomon sth 2 13s, or griffons wouldn't hurt either

Like Tom said that's huge. Don't base your ski boot size off your normal everyday shoe size. Most people wear shoes that are 1 to 3 sizes to big for them which is fine for everyday walking and stuff but when it comes to ski boots they need to be the exact size.

Like for example for my everyday shoes I wear a size US 8/UK 7 which would be size 26.5 in ski boots if you directly converted it but the actual boots I wear for skiing are only 24.5.
The boot fitter should do shell checks and properly measure you up so it shouldn't be a problem though.

yeah thanks guysi appreciate all the feedback as far as boots im juts gonna go to my budyys shop and have their fitter set me up.

and yes that size could be a little off as those boots arevery old i rid them forever. so it is very possible they are a size too big or something but ive honestly never had a problem with them. they just falling apart... missing clips, bottoms scraped to core.

but thank you yeah ive been looking at those look bindings i have the Solomon sths on my K2s now but they due for a reboot aswell.

sure the days I'm out ripping on hard pack I won't be in them but for those park days the flex is so hardto beat
