.Hugo.Way to small. Go up around 180
elderlysteezI'm not too great financially. Will these work for the year or will they just not perform at all
Titsandwich11what kind of skis are they and what kind of skiing are you doing?
elderlysteezShitty pair of fireflys that I can wreck in urban and at the park... I'll be doing 90% park and 10 % pow

skebumwI mean do what you gotta do to ski, but I too am 5'11 and for my big mountain ski, (witch I compete on) I'm at a 188, for my all mountain ski I'm on a 183 and for my park ski I'm on a 180. You will be happier if you have a proper ski size. Dependent on the type of ski.
Big mountain: somewhere between your nose and a inch above your head depending on preference, skill level and type of skier, shorter if your throwing big spins, longer if you doing gnarly techy lines at high speed.
All mountain: should really be right about at your nose.
Park: should be between your chin and nose.
again this all boils down to preference but these are just the generals
Titsandwich11those are all below the generally agreed upon guidelines. basically, start with your height and then add or subtract a little bit based on skill, what you ride, preferences etc
.CJ.I'm 5' 10" riding 182's, you should definitely go to AT LEAST 174.
Titsandwich11i mean, they'll work but that is way too small, assuming youre a proficient skier
basically, if you consider skiing an interest of yours that you are going to do more of in the future with any regularity, you should definitely get some new bigger skis. if you don't give a shit and just want something that'll work when you ski every now and then, then whatever, they'll slide down the mountain, you know?
you can prob find a decent pair of park skis in your size for a decent price. id suggest level9sports.com for one place to look
let me know if you have any other questions
THEDIRTYBUBBLEI'm 5' 7". I ride 179s in the park. Im also 160 pounds.
elderlysteezI'm also only 125 pounds idk if that makes a huge difference i know it's a factor but???

Titsandwich11hmm well that's extremely light but i'd still size up. maybe not too big but 166 is still small. hard to say exactly what length though. are you a decent skier? do you plan to bulk up?
elderlysteez7s fronts, mistys. Not awesome on rails. I can 2 on but that's pretty much it and ya kinda I guess
Titsandwich11oh shit well no offense but i had assumed you were a beginner and/or casual skier
yeah, definitely size up man. for 90% park you don't even need anything too amazing or expensive, and if you can do misties and shit i sure hope you plan to continue skiing haha so it'll be nice to have something better
166 is def short but yeah since youre so light i guess i wouldn't recommend using your height (180cm) as a starting point...so idk, somewhere in the 170s sounds like itd be good.
but again, take this all with a grain of salt. your skis will work fine if you have other stuff that you need to spend your limited money on. we're on NS so the trend will be to overthink everything gear-related. but a decent compromise in my mind would be to keep your eye out for some cheap mid range park skis in the 170s
elderlysteezI'm also only 125 pounds
elderlysteezI'm 5'11 wearing 166s are these way to small or?
