Replying to MFD alltime reliability/ durability with axials

I'm looking for something to satisfy the handful of days out in the back country. I've heard good things about them (like simplicity) compared to something like the alpine trekkers, however i'm wondering what your experiences are with these and if they are going to break on me while sending a jump or eat shit off a cliff and land nose heavy? Any other suggestions for something like this where I'm not spending the big bucks?
