MFD alltime reliability/ durability with axials

Too heavy and if you are too fat they can bend.

I have a set, and they are super beefy and simple. But they are suppppper heavy. If you're looking for a light setup then look somewhere else.

Company is out of business, so no support.

Any other thoughts or suggestions on something of this nature that is more cost effective than buying AT bindings with which I can still use mah DH bindings?

What do you have against trekkers? sounds like exactly what you want.

Dont listen to the haters, trekkers are on of the most practical inventions in skiing and i have been on mine for 2 whole years with no issues now.

The skis I use probably the most in bounds have MFD's on them. This will be my third season on them, and I bought them used. I have done quite a few shorter tours on them and have been really pleased. It's super simple easy it is to switch in and out of tour mode, as well as change the risers with your pole ends, and you don't have to unclick. The hinge in the front of the MFD plate lets the ski pivot all the way around, allowing you to transition from up to down mode without unclicking. MFDs are heavy though, as mentioned. The skis I have them on are pretty light though, so it still doesn't feel like they have much swing weight, and I think they cut through stuff better than they would if they were featherweights.

Most importantly for me, they ski super solid. I have some Marker Barons on a different set of skis and they feel about the same. MFD plates + bindings, in some cases, is probably going to put you lower to the ski than Barons as well. Ive taken my MFD's on a fair number of park laps on the way back to the lot and they felt solid doing anything. I have never had any issues with the heel releasing while skiing or crashing.

They're fine. Set the wires up so that your boot is as far forward as possible in the Trekker and set the Trekker itself a little "too long" for your binding. If you get unlucky with your boot length then you might need to make a 5mm shim on the Trekker heel so that your boot heel clears the binding's heelpiece - one friend of mine had to do this with the original Axials (P14s).
