So what does everyone think? The descendant series looks pretty cool, but what there are no more drop kicks, B&E, or Tom Wallisch pro models... This year looks sorta plain to me in terms of just how the boots look. What do you think?
Yeah really don't like the appearance of the boot at all. It looks really robust like some iron man would wear. I liked the simpler clean og look, raichle flexon style.
All the boots they had last year are still there they just have differnt names. This season they finally have a wide option so you no longer need mid to narrow feet to be comfy in a full tilt.
If you liked the way the boots rode before you will still love them just as much and you can't go wrong wit black boots.

I like that they switch to a Dalbello style lower buckle instead of the cable, but do they feel a lot bigger, going to a 102 last from 98? I'm assuming you've skied both boots.

your statement is false, if a lion didnt have hair it would still be relatively warm as it lives in its natural habitat in Africa, close to the equator, where it would stay at least lukewarm. And to finish your statemnet, if i ever saw you in the forest fighting a grizzly bear you would be severely injured by that bear

Went into a descendant 8 from a classic. Roomier but more comfortable for me since I have a wide foot

The Descendent's were made to replace the High Five and Hot Dogger. I have ridden the High Five for the last two seasons and it's the only boot I can get into with my bum ankle. The flex and width were always great but there was always a bit of heel movement in them.
They revamped the wide shell and moved the buckles to help fix the heel issue and improve the power you can put into the boot.
I didn't get a chance to demo them last season due to injury but I have them on order and I'm excited to see how they work.

Got my 16 orange classics and they're pretty eh. The liner sucked ass upgraded to pro wrap, but I made sure to not kill my toes on my '10 red n white wallisch' with the og snow camo tongues from the konflicts. Debating on putting the snow camo on my orange classics have some hunter boots lol.
i cant even put into words how excited i am they made a wide all mountain boot.

How much instep room is there in the Descendant? Are they suitable for someone with a huge instep?

I have an instep which causes me problems in most boots but I actually found I had to use a heel lift in the descendant so there is certainly a good amount of room there.

The fc6 is the one most people should go for. It's basically last years wallisch. It uses the updated shell compared to the classic or b&e. If you need the narrower fit go for the Seth fc8 or fc6 depending how stiff you want the boots.
It will sell well to those who know wallisch but to the vast majourity of skiers who are not familiar the first chair probably will sell better. It may sound weird but just how people here won't buy a non "park" boot, non free skiers are put off when a product seems too newschool
Are they still a somewhat soft flex? not that I will buy a pair, just curious to see what their flex profiles are like, every I know that owns a pair has said their stiffest flex feels a bit soft which is fine but I feel like you need something in the 120/130 range for hard charging.

Seth mo is a 10 flex with a cinch power strap. Should be plenty for most.
Unless you are charging harder than seth.

They don't compare to a good 130 overlap but that is not really what your going for with full tilt. The flex is why you get them and if skiing to you is charging hard on firmer snow then no they won't be for you. I certainly won't be using them for everything but in the park the flex is just so nice.

Rode the Descendant 8 this summer, I'll have a full review over on Blister soon, so I'll have all the deets then, there but they are definitely shorter, and a little softer than my Konflicts which are also an 8 flex by Full Tilt. Once I get snow here I'll ride one on each foot and have a detailed look up on the site. Not a stiff boot by any means, it just depends on what kind of skier you are, some guys can make a really soft boot work well, some can't. It's just like skis, some guys can charge Hellbents hard, I can't, I just don't have good enough balance.
