KendozersBrotherYou gotta get that backyard setup goin man!
KendozersBrotherI have been skiing for 16 years and I can honestly say that my life is devoted to skiing. There's nothing in the world I'd rather do than go ski all day everyday. The friends that once shared this passion with me seem to enjoy the bar more now, or a number of other things. It honestly makes me feel kinda shitty because I feel like I'm the only one left that wants to put it all on the line around here. (Minneapolis, MN). I know a lot of people really like skiing and do it often, but they seem to lack a true passion for it; often choosing many other activities over it. Seems like everyone hits about the age of 24 and decides they're "too old" to be passionate about it. I guess I don't really have a huge point other than I fucking love everything about skiing and I'll probably end up hitting the streets solo this year for the most part.
doubteeYou can have a true passion but still do other things. To say that doing another activity besides the one you consider your passion, means the latter wasnt really your passion, and that is a depressing outlook.
To be willing to, and follow through with, putting everything on the line for something doesnt make it a passion, it makes it a lifestyle. Responsibilities and obligations can get in the way, some poeple choose different paths for their life but at the end of the day can still call something their passion. I ski bummed this past winter, and while I had the time of my life, went back to school because it will help me achieve the goals I personally have set for myself and live the life I see myself living someday. Thats not to say skiing isnt my passion anymore because I chose not to drop everything and continue that lifestyle.
Do you, and if you want to ski bum the rest of your life, go for it. But if something comes up and you cant devote the next couple years or longer to skiing, don't let that make you think its not your passion anymore. Thats just my two cents.
BonzaloYou know what, I feel you, but there is so much stuff everywhere else to explore, to try, to adventure, that for me staying devoted 100% to a single activity is just too much.
Also, being passionate about something when you are a kid is so much easier that when you are a grown man.

3maniaI live in "Ski Town USA" and these fools are trying to change it to "Bike Town USA". It's pathetic.

EbolaSkiing for 10 years or unlimited pussy and money..... If I had to choose one between the two and not get the other I would pick skiing...that's how much I love to ski.....
HC__skierMakes sense for a lot of reasons at around this age .
- it becomes more expensive if self-funded
- nothing new to try
- recovery times longer, not as willing to get injured
- other interests
- less buddies doing it to ski with
- grown weary of skiing role-models
People just aren't as gay doing it anymore.

BarmskiI am 31 years old and I am still keeping the dream alive. I have seen many friends go, but I am not giving up. I had a 130 days last season and the sacrifices Ive made over years alone.......wow.....so many different jobs in different seasons.....age is just the number you make it.
