PHONES VS WINTER

Least favourite part about winter. When you're riding up the chair trying to post an insta or getting iphooty when your phone KOs with 100% battery only to resurrect in the lodge with like 10%???? Not sure if this is specific to iPhones but its a bitch and a half. Are there any products/cases that prevent/slow this down?? Or are we just fucked until Tim Cook gets his shit together

Well that sucks for you.

Put a hand warmer in your pocket, it will help the battery last longer.

Since I have a Galaxy s4 I just bring extra fully charged batteries.

batteries don't like cold so your best bet would be to put toe warmers with the sticky side on your phone.

do you really need to use your phone that much when skiing? I don't wanna sound like a granola munching hippie but if its cold enough for your phone to die that quick your hands are probably gonna feel like they are falling off anyways.

it is a pain in the ass when you're trying to take some lift selfies or change the song on a mid winter evening and your phone decides to shit the bed at 70%.

My plan is to get some hand warmers and rubberband them to the back of my phone/case so it lasts on those cold nights.

the worst part about phones and skiing is that..... my friends are always fucking on them! 5 years ago it was perfect, we could text to meet up, but now every is taking pictures to prove they were skiing. Turn that shit off and have fun

I've never had a problem when using a lifeproof case. It keeps heat in pretty well and doesn't really drain. As long as you have some music playing from it to keep the battery going, it doesn't die like that.

I usually put a Mophie Juicepack air on my phone when going out for events / skiing. Keeps you powered for a super long time and seems to keep the phone alive.

I noticed certain cases worked better than others. for example my Hit Case kept my phone warmer and in turn made the battery last longer, keeping your phone in an internal pocket of like your shell should help you out big time too, it worked with both my phone and GoPro

Either y'all unlucky af, or my case really makes a difference (trident "bombproof" case) I have a galaxy S4 and never had any battery problem on the mountain (I did have battery problems in general though). And I have music blasting all day. If I only listen to music and don't use it for anything else I'm normally around 70% when I get back from a day of skiing (without internet activated of course)

Someone should invent a phone case that keeps your phone warm....10/10 if it was under 40$ I'd buy.

I have a S4 and it has never run out of battery of froze on me or anything. I drop it all the time and the thing is fucking indestructible. I do find that if you keep your phone in a pocket inside of you jacket it helps because that keeps it warmer

Batteries don't like cold weather so I wrap mine up in my goggle case.

If I even bring it most of the time I leave it in my jeep.

My battery surprisingly lasts a good amount of time, I occasionally Snapchat or text but if I know I don't need to answer anything I'll put it in airplane mode and just ski. I also charge my phone in the car the whole drive to the mountain. I'm anal about having juice in my phone.

Make sure to put your phone in a warm pocket. I aways put in my front pant pocket. Typically outer jacket pockets get much colder easily.

my Ipod did this all the time but my galaxy only did it once. Also, does this happen to anyone's camera? I have a $100 digital camera from like 2010 and it always does this.

This happens a lot with the iPhone 4 and sometimes 5. But I don't think it's a problem with the 6. I think the longer u have had your phone and the more warn out your battery is, it's more likely to happen. Honestly I don't think a case will do anything but maybe give u an extra 20 seconds.

I get this even worse because i have the htc one and its all metal on the back so it gets even colder. so what i do is get a heat pack and ask for some clear tape from the ticket office and tape a heat pack on the back and it actually works! And it keeps ur hand warm when ur sendin those dick pics on the lift.

I have an iPhone 4S, and I don't know if it's just the type of phone, but this happened to me a lot last season also. Every single time I barely used my phone at all and I go to check what the battery is and this one time it said it was at 40% and it just died right there. I don't think it necessarily has to be extreme cold, because each of these days I didn't remember it being that cold. I think I will try the hand warmer idea next to my phone this season. Especially beware if you go night skiing.

It works in pretty cold weather, i had a -20 day bluebird at nubs nob and the plastic bag worked. Im on the hill for racing alot of reallllly cold nights and its been proved to work

Does nobody else ski without their phone? I keep mine in my locker because I don't want it to get fucked by the weather, and I'm paranoid If I take a fall just the right way, it will become lodged inbetween my ribs horrifically somehow.

I always ski with some glove liners in my pocket i its cold enough so i just put my phone in one and wrap around with the other glove. also he cliche of putting your brightness down is a good thing (I have no need for it here in pa, its always cloudy)
