I work as a summer camp counselor and I bus tables at a chinese/japanese/hibachi restaurant in a touristy town during the summer. In the winter I teach skiing at mount jore outside of going to school during the week. Pretty sweet gigs. Made a shit ton of money in the summer though, made enough to buy my first car, along with paying for what the car needs and at least have some extra money left over for winter.

I have thought about it actually. i'm a few classes away from my degree in mechanical engineering. Time will tell though.

Oh thank god I never got stuck in that shit hole. I was lucky enough to get stationed in Germany for 2 years, Korea for 1 and now I have been in Florida since October of 14'

sorry, haven't been on ns for a few days. But yeah, depending on how good your town is for deliveries it can pay very well. I live in a college town so weekend nights you'll typically make around 50$ in tips not apart of your hourly wage. I think it usually comes out to about 13-15$/hour as long as you're usually working weekends. week nights can be dead and you don't make much at all in tips
I work front desk for a property management company at copper mtn. It's pretty chill and I get to ski till noon on days I work...... My customer service is way better when I can shred first..LOL

I currently drive a tractor trailer for FedEx Express 30 hours a week, but I'm quitting on Christmas Eve to assume my full time duties as a student/ski bum.

By major, I'm a mechanical engineer, but I am currently working in the Manufacturing Engineering department. More specifically Advanced Vehicle Planning. I plan to get more into design as soon as the opportunity arrises. Its very common for people to move around within the company.
It's pretty sick working for a large OEM. Lots of perks and it pays pretty well. FCA may not be the best of the Detroit 3, but it is on its way up. and they are doing sick stuff like the hellcats.

I'm an EMT in Flint, Michigan (3rd most dangerous city in the USA). Its cool, but the pay is some of the worst I have ever experienced. On the bright side though you get to know drug dealers and gang members, so that's cool.
I'm a golf caddie. I get to work whenever I want. I just show up, sign in, and wait to get called out. I don't get paid hourly, but there's $80 minimum bag fare and caddies are required at the course so you're pretty much guaranteed to get out unless its really slow. If I double bag, I make minimum $160 for 4 hours of actual work. I love it
This is actually really legit. I worked as grounds crew this summer and never realized how big of a business trees are. Just in this summer though I have seen lots of sketchy shit as I'm sure you have.
Just to name one story we were renting out a 100 ft crane for a tree removal. We were removing the tree in sections and were down to the last piece (weighed 1500 - 2000 lbs). Our climber rigged it up to the crane and we started to lift it over the house. The round ended up slipping and falling into the house absolutely destroying the roof.
Another day we were chipping piles through our Vermeer and out of nowhere a stray dog starts running directly at the chipper and jumps right into it. Luckily one of our guys grabbed him last minute but it was so close to being toast.
I have a friend to last year whi became an electrician, and its retarded how much money he makes a year. Seriouly I think I got into the wrong industry.
