Replying to Shin bang help
I used to get shin bang like crazy before last season... then i bought 1080 boots, now i never get it. except the other day i cleared a 60 foot jump by about 20 feet w/ switch 5 so i landed forward and i got the bang like crazy, which probably would happen to most people, it wasn't really my boots or anything. i just landed backseat like crazy going like 90 feet to flat. anyway, now when i ski i have to land switch, i can't even perfectly land forward cuz they're still real tender. i had taken a week off and they still killed to land forward perfectly. so when i'm not skiing whats a good thing to do? most people have said ice, but doens't ice just prevent swelling? my shins aren't....swelling... they just hurt, and alot of it is from the back/sides. kinda weird. probably just how i landed. but i really need to do something cuz i dont wanna take like 3 weeks off just to let them heal. and for the stupid people, dont tell me to just never land forward cuz it still hurts to just ski, period. so is ice really the answer? and what even technically IS shin bang? is it so much pressure from the backs of the boots in my crash that it just hurts? but whatev, for now i rubbed icey hot all over them and its the craziest thing ever. already burned my leg hair off. its pretty sexy. and what is this i hear about rubbing a pole up and down them? what the hell? any bit of advice would be so awesomely gargantuanly splendidly appreciated. thanks.
