Never met him so I won't/can't judge, but I've heard he is a bit arrogant. Fucking style for days though.

I have to admit he is a great skier with alot of style but also gonna add that alot of kids out there would be at his level with the oppurtunities he has had. Hes a good skier tho and will probly be ridiculous when he gets older

haha this is funny me and the homies were talking about this exact thing at snogression tonight, the kid started get national recognition at like age 9, so yeah he slays but the kid a such a little spoiled bitch.

This is so true for pretty much any well known up and comer. Kids like Aspen are just lucky enough they had the opportunity to dedicate their life to the sport and have all the facilities and coaches around them. Their actual skills are equal to a kid who's pretty good at your local skatepark.

Seems like I cocky prick I know two other kids his age who can double and arnt little fuck boys like him...idk why but I have never liked his attitude and style...he does kill it tho.

Honestly, you just get the sense that he is nothing like a normal kid. Basically all local kids are just trying to have fun and progress their skills, they they don't just seem to be skiing for big sponsorships. It's just hard to support a kid that doesn't relate to much of the skiing community.

1. aspen is one of the most down to earth little kids i have ever met, he shreds likes hes in a video game, ...its unreal to watch through the lens as he effortlessly flosses 3ups in the middle of a run! its also undeniable that he has some type of incredible person aura about him, its natural, not arrogance.

2. there is a ton of hate in skiing, so anytime "i heard this, about this person" ...its to spread hate and put someones talents and successes down.

3. everyone is working their tail off to make something happen in the ski industry, aspen and his family are fully dedicated to living their lives and supporting aspens goals, much respect to living the ski bum life and fighting for every opportunity

4.if you love skiing, you need to support the youth of the sport, no matter who it is and what their style may be, hating on little kids is just wrong...

Basically tons of jealous kids most likely, people that are envious of the opportunities he has to ski all the time. The good news is, if you've got haters your usually doing something right. Aspen has always been super chill when I've met him plus he's a talented kid for his age. Honestly it's pathetic to see the hate on him.

The funny thing is, as you get older people don't really think much of the amount they hate on here, but as they get older and some try to pursue careers in the ski industry, that shit can bite you in the ass. People, especially on here, are way too quick to judge people they've never met or talked to.

I really don't understand this argument. I've heard it before so don't think this post is entirely directed at you. The way I see it, it doesn't matter if other kids could be as good as him. I mean everyone has a degree of potential. The difference is this kid actually takes advantage of his talent and goes after his goals which is why he is better. I think it's discrediting as fuck to say he's only gotten good because of his opportunities. He's good because he's talented and puts in the time/effort to be as good as he is.

Yeah you are right aspen has definitely worked his ass off to get to the skill level he is at and deserves credit for his ability level. Nobody should be hatin on him tho especially because he is a 14 year old kid. He's gonna be one of the best one day so everyone might as well start supporting him now as he is part of the future of our sport.

im glad everyone is on the anti-hate train. comparing opportunities is also not fair, because i dont think aspen was at summer camp all year round, hes not getting paid to fund a professional career, and his edits are filmed and produced by his friends and family... people def. hated on the length and style (slow-mo, overly used shot) of his edits without understanding its a little kid

this shot right here represents more than words... it represents days of a kid staring at a jump that is literally MAssive - getting stoked watching the best pros shred it, and one day stepping up to the plate, and hitting a homerun!

aspen is a good kid with awesome opprotunities, nothing wrong with that. on the flip side it would be fair to say that there are many other kids who are working just as hard as aspen but don't get the recognition. aspen sounds like a great kid from the people who commented and know him, it just sounds like the people who dont know him are the only ones hating. at some points i could see him come off as a spoiled kid and such ( apsen vs cody laplante) but its good to see young skiers getting noticed at least.

I mean they ski for fun, don't get me wrong, but kids definitely are about trying to get sponsored. Have you not seen any threads or anything where kids are asking, "How do I get sponsored, who do I get sponsored by, etc."

I met him in 2011 at Windells and got to ski with him for a bit one day and then hang at the camp, he seemed pretty cool and nice for sure but according to a guy I know that sponsored him he says Aspen is "a little prick" I dont know what hes like today but from the sound of it he might be a bit to eager with sponsors and stuff. No doubt that hes got a bright future....If he grows a bit but I still feel that he has a "do you know who I am" type attitude.

I think it's wrong to give little kids too much attention and sponsorship support before they deserve it. Aspen got waaaayyyy too much hype and attention in previous years when he was nothing special. I like kids who come from nothing and actually have to work really hard to get recognition... it makes for a much better head on their shoulders as well ;)

No but actually I don't hate anyone who loves what they do and puts loads of effort into it....I just think he's cocky and annoying maybe it's why I justify it to not like him but who knows I have never met the kid.... I almost got into trucking at one point because of my uncle. Kind of glad I didn't. Would have been doable as I already drive cross country all the time, but I like having free time.

I'm not worried about things. Actually could probably get a "real" job if I wanted to. I'd rather play in my sandbox on the mountain till I'm too old or dead lol.

Who knows though. Maybe I'll be one of those people who makes some crazy 180 and sell my skis/board then go to law school or something.

I grew up skiing with Aspen. Before he moved out west, he lived in my little town of Harbor Springs. The kid was good at whatever form of skiing he touched, be it racing, park, ect. (he actually started racing, but like myself he was quickly burnt out by it.) Sure he was a little cocky, but what little kid wouldn't be with his ability? All in all, I respect the kid. He's a great skier who's parents gave him every opportunity to see him follow his dreams. Please stop hating on this kid? He deserves the recognition he has earned.

How many of you here can honestly say that you weren't a little shit as a teenager? And if you can't, maybe it's because you still are.

It's easy to judge someone who sees a lot more camera time than someone like you, who has had the luxury of privacy. Even if he is a little shit (no idea), getting upset about it only exposes your insecurity.
