Expensive though!! I dropped by there to have my codes read and I had two cylinders misfiring so I asked what they charge for spark plugs and they were looking at $270. I understand that OEM parts are more expensive but still thats pretty expensive labor for a fix that took like a half hour

You might be right, I don't know how they compare to other places in price. I don't know much about cars. I just know that when I took my Subaru there they did a great job, seemed very knowledgable and they only charged me like $7 to fix my broken headlight and clean my car. Not sure on anywhere that might be cheaper though.

Dealers are always more expensive than other shops and they almost always do more service than needed.

Just take your car to pep boys to have the codes read, search subaru forums and YouTube to see if you can do it yourself, and if you can't you can bring it somewhere else.

As far as subaru mechanics, I've heard great things about The Mechanic Man in Murray. I haven't been there myself as I've never had anything major and it's worth I more to me to visit somewhere closer (which for me is foothill tire pros and they actually are fair and honest and do a good job for things that aren't a major issue like head gaskets and things that require the entire engine to be taken apart).

I've been doing this for a while now! I have the P1443 code which is incredibly difficult to troubleshoot, and I had some cylinders misfiring so I changed my spark plugs but it still isn't idling well.

Salt City Auto Styling. A friend of a friend recently opened up this shop and they are great. awesome work for insanely cheap, and they actually use quality tools and such (snap-on alignment rack, all the goodies). And they will instal parts that you bring in, so you don't get raped by typical big o upselling the parts bullshit. they specialize in tuner cars, which is a shitload of subarus...again can't recommend them enough. they work on all my families cars and my friends' cars

Just so ya know, the only mechanic to go to in SLC is John Krueger...he's the man, gives you rides, treats you incredibly well, and is all-around kind and helping. I've gotten my car towed to him on a Sunday with a bunk alternator, and got it back on Monday for free after he warrantied the part for me. Pretty neat. Google mechanics slc, and he's the only dude with five-stars... Works on all cars except Audis and the like. Figured I'd let all of you know, always stoked on his service.

Clark's on 3300 S. They recently became subaru only, and I've been really happy with their service/prices.
