How to be mean/not be a pussy?

NS, I'm really fucking soft and I don't know how to stand up for myself. I always feel guilty when I have to say no to someone and I just don't know how to not give a fuck. I go too far out of my way to help people and I've been getting really fucked over because of it. I'm pretty sick of it but I seriously don't know how to be mean. I just love everyone and want them to like me, so I try to be as nice as possible even if that means I can't do something I need/want to. The best insult I can come up with is fuck you, you're a bitch. And even then I feel awful after. How do I stop being such a pussy and push over?

I figured most of you guys don't give a fuck about much, I wanna be like that. How do you guys not be pussies?

Realize that 9/10 times those other people feel bad it's because they are lazy shitpumpers and can't be bothered to change their situation. Instead, get angry that they are taking oxygen away from you.

I was the same once, now I can say no. It feels grea saying no to things that would be annoying or boring to do. I use to always say no to hanging with a kid who claims were "best friends" which I guess we somewhat are but ever since he dated his 10/10 senior girlfriend hes been an asshole to me and lately Ive just been saying no to anything he wants to do since hes such a prick now. Just say no if the person has any sense theyll understand that you dont want to help them and that you have better things to do.

Well, I guess I don't really care if people don't like me. I think I just suck at being social and making friends. I have like 3 friends id consider friends and I don't want to lose them as friends so I do stuff for them so that they don't hate me... And that's actually really bad and I didn't realize any of that till now.

I used to get bullied a lot...I would get made fun of a ton and because of that I got in alot of fights and went through some depression. I hating my friends because they didn't get involved. I hated my parents because they didn't understand. I hated myself. But I realized that I didn't really hate the kids being mean...I wanted them to like me. I started to give them a piece of my mind but not be mean...when I stopped caring they stopped mostly....That was over 3 years ago and a lot of the people have apologized ...if someone were to come up to me and say a ton of bad stuff I would react....but react calm and take it as nothing....just don't care what people say....try to be nice ..that's what people like and remember! Who cares what people think or say!

I totally get this, and it's one of the traits I admire most in my boyfriend - his ability to do what he wants (within reason) and not give a fuck. My advice would be to change the self-talk. For me at least, it's about changing the self-talk. When you say no, instead of freaking out and thinking about what the other people are going to think about you saying no, acknowledge that you're feeling this anxiety but then reaffirm that you don't want to do it and you don't owe anyone an explanation. This is... the easy part, because in about 10 minutes, I start feeling weird again, and wondering about my decision to say no. This is when the self talk comes in handy though, because I remind myself that I don't want to, I didn't want to, and I don't owe anyone shit. Rinse and repeat. After a while, no fucks should readily be given (I'll let you know when I get there ;))

Then continue to not give a fuck and people will see that you don't fuck around. The shitty people in your life will leave and the good ones will come to you eventually. Someone always is gonna be hating on what you do. Use that as motivation to get shit done.

I think I kinda do that. Like when people piss me off I hold it in but then I never take it out on other people so I think thats my problem. I just gotta figure out how to stick up for myself without being mean and feeling guilty about it haha. Thanks man(:

Yeah man. Don't feel guilty about it. If someone treats you like crap try to be the bigger person first and if that doesn't work tear them apart so they dont fuck around again. I mean there's always people who think they're better than you but your always better than them at something else. Just take that and put it towards getting better. But it's whatever works for you. It's a procces.

It gets easier as you get older. I struggled with trying to be a people pleaser for a long time. Its an impossible situation to put yourself in, and people won't respect you if you are a doormat. If you keep in mind what you want, and what you stand for, and stick to that, then you can maintain a laid back attitude about a lot of things and only get heated in rare occurrences when it is absolutely necessary.

This needs to be emphasized, if you are dick to everyone, you clearly give a fuck and have something to prove.

Truly not giving a fuck means you really don't care, you feel no need to try lash back and one up someone being a dick to you because it is clear there problem lies within themselves and nit with you.

there are times when one does need to stand up tall hold there ground and show the other person that they aren't to be fucked with, but that response is immensely more powerful when it is out of the ordinary and warranted.

once you you truly stop giving a fuck life becomes so much more fun because you just don't let what other people think or say bother you, allowing you to go through life with a smile.

I'm guessing they're friends with you because you're a good person, not because you 'do stuff for them'. If you stop doing stuff for them and they hate you, they probably weren't worth having as friends from the start.

realise that a lot of the time other people wouldn't give a fuck about your feelings in the same situation. stop trying to please everyone and live for yourself and pretty quickly you'll discover the ways of not giving a single fuck. toxic people will suddenly disappear from your life and you'll feel a lot better for it.

also, a lot of the time people will respect you more if you're an asshole sometimes rather than just being a pushover all the time.

Its all about balance, you don't want to stop caring as a whole nor is it possible if you're asking this question in the first place. Let the rubber-band stretch out, it helps you get stronger and more productive, but make sure to let it bounce back when you think you've gained enough. In other words, threat yourself, speak your mind, you won't feel bad for saying things when you have your shit together and you truly believe in what you say. Obviously, some corners of your life may require a constant stretch.. you need to survive after all.

Pratice saying no, I can't right now, and other things you wish you could say, in the mirror. Become comfortable with the idea that you aren't obligated to help people and it's okay to stand up for yourself. Even if it makes you feel bad. The more you do it the better off you'll be,and you'll start to notice you attitude has changed.

You will not be happy with yourself or the people around you, if you consider yourself a kind of boat in person then try to surround yourself with people who won't take advantage of you. Iv'e got the same deal going on. I put other peoples happiness in front of my own. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I tend to miss out on opportunities with new people from choosing to stay loyal to my friends.

Calling people soft is actually a good way to deal with this. When someone is being a bitch and asking for you to compromise, just call them soft. It's not really a diss but you are asking them to stand up for themselves so you don't have to deal with their troubles. Iv'e got some dumb ass room mates this year and I'm going to bring that word back. Good shit.
