About Bachelor Parks Real Laps series

I started the Bachelor Parks Real Lap series last season (14-15).

What is it? It is skiers and snowboarders doing a park lap for the camera without cuts or edits. The videos have no music track. I do commentary instead.

This is quite a challenge to most any rider.

They know if they don't land the jump, or don't get the full rail, tube, box, whatever, it will all be on camera for all to see.

That takes nerves of steel in my opinion. I think all the riders deserve huge up's for being victims in the series.

Many really good riders would not do a Bachelor Parks Real Lap when offered because of the way It worked. Just sayin'.

I do this all for the love of the sport and my own fun and pleasure.

There is absolutely no money involved.

I have shot all takers from any age or gender no matter how hot of riders they may have been. Not everyone has a camera guy, so for some folks it gave them something to remember. Something to share with their family and friends. That type of thing really makes me happy as I enjoy what I have been doing with the series.

If you have not seen them all, maybe you can take a bit of time and give the riders some up's and sweet comments. There are a few that did not get the type of up's the riders deserved. Then again, that's just my opinion.

I understand some folks don't care for my bla bla, That's cool. Can't please all the people all the time, but don't discount the riders just because of me.

A few have made comments like..."The skiing was sick, but the commentary sucked".
I actually can appreciate that! All credit to the rider of the Real Lap!

Well, I guess that's it.

I will continue the Bachelor Parks Real Laps series again this season (15-16)
If you think you have what it takes maybe I'll see you at Bachelor.

I'm down for that. Just a bit harder to keep folks in frame. Do you coach some of them for MBSEF? I always like to give them cred. when I see them. Be good!

I was at Bachy last winter (if you can call it that) for 1 day and was really hoping to randomly find you and get a Real Lap. Maybe this coming winter. Love what you're doing

All you need to do is message me here for a better chance. Also Just ask around the Parks if anyone has seen me. Or ask the lifties at Skyliner lift. Pretty much all the locals know who I am. Be good brother!

You never know who. Thing is some pros have contracts that may not allow them to do some things.

I saw T Hall up there with a friend of mine, but I'm not the type to bug him or ask him.

For the most part it's been about local rats.

If you see some of the same kids again, you may notice the progression as they get better each season and that can be fun too.

Much thanks Dead. I just can't help myself from being stoked. My excitement is always genuine although sometimes viewed as a bit dorky.

I want to continue my Bachelor Parks Real Lap series. Last season was the slowest season I have ever seen at Bachelor Parks.
The stable of riders was extremely small. This gave me little opportunity to get the amount of videos I would have liked.
Not sure why so few riders were available. I know some "kids" get to the point they need to move on to school, or they reach the age where the pass price is no longer discounted. Then they have the problem of rentals in Bend area going through the roof as well.
I have seen them come and go through the years for sure, but last season was quite dismal indeed.
Lets face it, skiing is an expensive sport and it's not getting cheaper.
Anyway, I hope this coming season will provide more opportunity.
All that said, I did get a few sweet riders last season. It was nice to have Oscar Weary and Willy Monje at Bachelor for the last two seasons.
I shot them both a couple of times just to get more videos in the series. Those guys are hella awesome.
One of my favorites from last season even though the snow was quite bumpy for a hand held camera was this one with Jonah Elston & Nash Lisac.
