If for some reason you can't get a Dehumidifier, I would recommend silica, pipe tobacco, or even uncooked rice. You simply purchase and leave out, like a type a paprika. Of course these are very bummy techniques and don't come close to an actual dehumidifier, but it will draw the moister of the room into itself and be better than doing nothing at all.
