I like a lot of high school students find that school is alot more managable when you skip a couple classes every now and then. I have good test scores and an adequte gpa but have had quited a few absences each year. Is this going to affect an admissions councilors decision?
What do people even mean by skipping a class in high school? What are you going to do? Hide for all of third period or just sit in the bathroom? I'd rather go to class. Or do you just leave the premises for a bit?
Or by skipping class do people mean just not going to school that day? Also does your attendance even recorded somewhere where colleges could see it? This is the first time I've ever heard anybody talk about it for getting in to college.
I almost never skip real classes. You can leave my school for lunch so alot of people including myself schedule study halls or easy A electives before or after lunch and skip them sometimes so you get an hour and a half break for lunch. Also ocasionally I'll skip a couple of classes and go to the library to study when I have a big test. The point is I dont skip that often but over the year the absences do add up. I had never worried about it in the past but now that I'm starting to apply to schools I'm just wondering if they care.

This is really true though. I'm taking classes at a university while in high school and I realize how absolutely pointless high school is and the misinformation you gain from it
You know all that stuff teachers tell you about college? That they see your disciplinary records, that you need good grades, etc. Well, it's bullshit (unless you're going to a prestigious private university, maybe. But I couldn't possibly see the allure of those).
Look at it this way: if your teachers knew anything about winning in life they probably wouldn't teach high school.
