Replying to Armada AR5s vs. Line Chronics
I know this topic has been discussed several times before, and I have read all the posts dealing with the two skis... but I still haven't been able to make up my mind so I'm going to be selfish and start my own thread.
I've been skiing since I was four, but I live in Southern California and only see the snow once or twice a year. Only recently have I started making more frequent trips to the slopes. That being said, I'm not all that good at skiing and really not too used to twin-tip skis (only used them once; atomic stomps). I've been experimenting in the parks with rental skis the past few times I've gone and I'm pretty interested in sticking with it even though I usually make myself look like a fucking moron. I'd say about I'm about 75% all-mountain and 25% park.
After reading a whole shitload of posts, I think I've narrowed down my selection to two skis... the Armada AR5s and the Line Chronics. I'm looking for a ski that will perform well in the park but will do equally well carving all over the mountain... powder really isn't all that important.
Here's my comparison so far...
Armada - AR5
-sorta soft
-chipping problems
-all mountain ski
-76mm waist
Line - Chronic
-stiff
-mainly park
-80mm waist
-light
Add stuff to it... change it... do whatever... just give me a better idea...
Thanks,
-Chris
