NewEscuelershowever when you're trying to get rid of gender, a natural, congenital trait, that's where you lose me.
Just to play devil's advocate here: sex, as in male or female, is a natural, congenital trait, i.e. you either have a penis or a vagina when you're born and are then accordingly sorted as either male or female. Gender, as in boy, girl, man, woman, is not natural or congenital, is culturally and societally based, and is something we have come up with ourselves and has no basis in genetics, for example the idea that boys should have short hair while girls should have long hair. Males being bigger than females is an example of sex; boys wearing blue while girls wear pink, or men going out and working and earning money while women stay home to take care of the house are examples of gender. The idea of these new pronouns are to help people who aren't comfortable with, or feel they don't/can't identify with, the traditional man/woman dichotomy of gender find something they can identify with better.
