sharp edges switch

is it just me or is it harder to ski switch with sharp edges? it seems like they catch all the time

your skis may need to be detuned a bit. take them back to the shop that sharpened them, or a good shop if they havent been worked on, and have them detune them a little bit more. or, you can take a file and lightly grind off the sharpness in both the tips and tails, but do it lightly, cause you still want some edge

i'd still never touch salomon bindings with a 30 foot pole. they pre-release like its their job to.-lanks

i don't think its harder, when i start catching my edges i find that im not paying enough attention

sharp edges shouold make it easier to carve switch, but if they are too sharp, just buy a gummi stone for a few bucks and detune yourself...much better for your edges than a file.

listen to guddgulf17, if you get your skis machined tuned at a store sometimes they don;t de tune the tips and tails, and you end up with that edge grabbing some times. you can de tune it your self with a file, it will only take like 2 passes over the edge and only a do it like 2 inches from the tips to mid ski, you don;t want to de tune the part you want sharp.

^if you detune from 2 inches from the tip to mid ski, wouldn't you be basically detuing the entire edge?

I do the opposite but that is not normal. I detune uderfoot and sharpen everything else. I do catch edges switch but if I concentrate it can be avoided. I need them sharp for control, not just forward but switch also. I just hate the feeling of detuned tails while skiing forward I need em sharp for that surfing laid back feel.
The result is catching em sometimes and shredded tails but like I said I feel like a scraper without em
