Sad story. true story.

So last thursday i was down at my local hill sessioning the weak little handrail they have and something horrific happened........ which pretty much left me crying inside for days....

i was having a good day pulling average slides to fakies but as i did my 6th slide i caught my edge and stopped in my trax. doing a complete flip to landing on the hard packed snow on my wrist and side.

so i went and got it xrayed at the hospital.... broke ma wrist and 2 fingers and strained all mi tendants. cast and splints for 6 weeks.!!!!

fak. but did i mention it was my writing hand? fak numba 2. im offically handicaped. fak.

any1 share my pain?

I skiied with a broken wrist 2 years ago. I thought it wasn't anything big and that is would just go away, but when it still hurt I went to get an xray and I had broken it, but since I had gone so long without a cast it began to heel and the doctor said no skiing for 2 weeks, I was out skiing the next day.

i dislocated my shoulder, i CANNOT MOVE it for 3 weeks then a few more weeks of physio. i dont even have the option of skiing, like you do. just load up on painkillers in a few weeks and go skiing.

i did something similar last thursday at killy
270 off the up to flat box and caught, went down, dislocated/stretched/partially tore tendon in left thumb. In a cast for 3 weeks and then maybe surgery, hopefully not. I need to find a crappy glove to cut up and fit over my huge cast. Good luck man.

ahhhh marlin_102 dont be a lil girl, 3 weeks for a dislocated shoulder is way to much...my friend had the same thing and he was back boarding within the same week, the trick is take lots of arnica and deal with the pain

i did the EXACT same thing you did man. i was at vail yesterday and my edge caught on something right within the last foot of the rail and i flipped off of it but i got lucky and didnt break anything. i know how you feel though, i broke an ankle last year. couldnt ski for 6 months

dude i dislocated my shoulder the 14th, didnt ride for 2 weeks and i just got back from bigsky rippin the freshies in big sky, still in pain but had a great time, so i say sack up and dont ask for sympathy bitch

I feel your pain man...I had a ski slice the side of my leg down through my muscle on Jan 1st...I have a cast on and am out of skiing till late January...oh well...nothing you can do but wait and listen to your friends tell you how much fun they are having...bastards

On december 8th this year i was at sunllgiht skiing new powder and i didnt see a rock in my path until the last second and tried to go over it. and when i did my right ski hit the top and stop my foot and sent me into a frontflip ejecting out of my right ski and breaking my ankle in my boot and landed on my back into some pow and laid there till ski patrol came.

then they had to do the worst thing ever...take off my boot. when they did i felt like 3 things break and when i came back to massachusetts with the catscan it looks like those 3 breaks were mt talus bone (ankle) breaking into more pieces. so i've been ina cast for about 4-5 weeks and got more weeks ina cast on the way because of where the break is. It's 70% cartiledge and 30% blood in the ankle and breaks need more blood to heal quick so it's going to be a long heal time and my bone can become brittle (hawkins syndrome) and even if someone with hawkins jumps off the second rung of a ladder it can break where the bone is brittle. so now on thursday i have to get an x-ray and a new cast to see if the bone is brittle or not. that'll be my D-day.

hope this makes yours sound a little better. least you can ski right now. im done till end of february or march.

i got lucky. went to my doctor today and my wrist fracture ended up only being a hairline, really small. i have to wear a wrist guard for 3 weeks, but its removable and at least i dont have to deal with that cast shit. good luck man.

I have to have surgery on feb 1, for a torn laibrum (basicly the socket that holds your shoulder in), and the recovery time is 4-6 months with intense physio. So at least all of you guys get to have a season.

I dislocated my thumb yesterday. They popped it back into place and I went skiing again. I am going to go to the doctor in a few hours to make sure there's no tendon or tissue damage or whatever. Luckily, its my left hand.

my right thumb is always strained or dislocated. I've gotten used to it, although the doctors have said it gets worse everytime i do it.
