seamus_csandy parry build a jump with skis on the bottom so it would move for Orage Masters one year. and in one episode of TC he build a moving rail
bgeskiorthe moving box has been done in skateboarding many times.
I'd have to say will wesson bouncing his poles off the rail and catching them.
no way that could be copied from anywhere else
seamus_cswhat about the moving jump. I dought that skaters would try that

spins
bigger spins
grabs
butters?
this was all before snowboards had bindings and back when skateboards had clay wheels. Skiing was the first modern action sport, we just don't get credit for shit.
MinggBut we did it better
K-Dot.Quads off of a jump
Twin tips
Ski resorts
Touring equipment
I'll think of more
Jon_Taffertwin tips were made because the skiers wanted to do the tricks snowboarders did, so we copied those too
McLSSkiing is the first action sport to ever be mediatised, and probably the first one to exist. People just forget about it because now the freestyle scene has moved to the park with comps and people see it as a recent sport (especially with the olympics).
But it's not. People were jumping off cliffs and doing sketchy ass lines back in the 70s and filming it for people's pleasure. So what did we create? The cradle of adrenaline filled sports that have a very important element of art. When we ski we try to look good, to do tricks that look good to the eye and that flow with the mountain. Skiers were the first to be filmed doing something not only gnarly but beautiful (what we now call steaze, style, flow...)
We invented a whole dimension to sports that's what we did.

Titsandwich11skiing is the oldest action sport besides maybe surfing. it's about 5 THOUSAND years old
this trope that skiing is the unoriginal one is so bizarre and near sighted. do we follow recent trends from snowboarding and skateboarding? of course-- in the last 15 years that's been a thing. and that's not a bad thing. sports should inspire each other.
but skiers have been dropping cliffs, flipping, grabbing, and generally doing sweet gnarly shit for decades and decades-- no need to delve into the thousands of years before that. acting like we're the copy cats is straight up wrong, and reeks of some weird inferiority complex
Swandog7Who created urban? I know skiing made it big first.
Jon_TafferSkateboarders been doing that shit for ages

OregonDeadSkiing predates the use of the wheel for transportation by a couple thousand years. People documented skiing with images as early as 4000BC. Pretty sure 'urban' skiing happened ages before the skateboard. The Greeks didn't even invent the wheelbarrow until about 600BC
Jon_Tafferokay find me a 4000bc cave painting showing someone hitting a close out then cuz you know damn well were not just talking about skiing around a city
ParryWithAnAHippy killer...
Moving jump was done before skiing (bmx guy got paralyzed) but idk about the moving rail/box.
dingusWe created Snowboarders technically so technically snowboarders created nothing, because skiers did. Tell my logic is flawed.
dingusA day later, and I see my mistake. *Tell me my logic is flawed* I am so sorry guys.
