I think el nino means rain, grass, and a little more rain. But el nino vs. la nina snowfall amounts are so hard to call because it's so dependent on the local weather systems. Strong La Nina is usually a guaranteed good winter though, but if you have a drought in your area you should just buy a snow gun.

Farmers Almanac says that it will be even snowier and colder in the east than last year. so as long as we bundle up, it will be pretty awesome. Boston is going to get ravaged again though.
that's good that there is gonna be a lot of snow. but I don't even own a coat I just wear sweaters with layers underneath so its gonna be a cold one for me

As a skier who lives near Boston and doesn't have a long commute, this excites me. Bring it on, El Nino. Blizzard the fuck out. I'm down.

Any weather forecast that is longer than 2 days is bullshit. Sorry guys, lets just wait for winter to come and that's when we'll know how good it is, getting excited for a winter forecast in the summer is just silly.

This is true, but I do believe in farmers predicting winter. But I dont see how the scientists can magically see the exact weather for 4 months from now...

Neither can predict what will happen in 4 months, at all, period. They are guessing based on past information, but that doesn't mean it will be the same as other years, el nino whatever, the weather can literally completely flip in a week.

I don't think this is true at all, which is why i'm speaking up. I think its silly to get all stoked because of some bullshit map farmer almanac put online, i dont like seeing people mislead and let down when they trust this shit.

It's really not much of a big deal, man. We are all aware that Mother Nature is a wild and unpredictable lady, but it's just fun to look at what people are saying (and hope for snow!). No one's going to break down into tears during the season because some old-school farmers were wrong about the weather.
