UVM ssc question

I was just wondering if there were any members here who are members of the UVM ski and snowboard club? I'm gonna be a freshman this year and i just wanna know the lowdown on the deals. I know for sure i'm going to stowe but if bush is mad cheap as well I might get two passes.

back when I was considering UVM I found a pass for both MRG and Sugarbush, I forgot what it was called but that might be something to look at too

Yeah I saw that too. Was also considering just MT Ellen and also stowe. Would be 399 for stowe, 219 for bush.

Check out the freestyle team if you are at all interested in park or big mountain. good times to be had, transportation to stowe and sometimes bush, and comp fees paid, along with many other good deals and good times.

I am dead set on going to UVM next year and the times that I have been there they said half off season pass to Stowe and transportation on the weekends

Anyone can be apart of the Ski and Snowboard Club. Back when I was there you could get discounts in the ski shops (both Alpine Shop and Ski Rack have special nights for UVM students with extra discounts), Ben and Jerry's, etc etc. And they definitely have the hookups for equipment as well.

I didnt join FST but was part of the SSC club and got a bush pass. The club runs shuttles every saturday and sunday, but the downside was that they didnt start until after winter break (mid january). You get some discounts on stuff too im pretty sure but more with FST.

Did they not shuttle before winter break for just bush? Or did they not shuttle to Stowe either

They did not shuttle to bush, stowe, smuggs, jay or bolton before winter break even though mountains were open around late october and september. Not really sure why, I think they assume not as many kids will go before break

Yeah, SSC has had some trouble with their budget, and since transportation is so expensive they've been forced to cut a lot of it. Same goes for at the end of the season, busses stop running a few weeks before mountains close.
As has already been mentioned before by some former members in this thread, the Freeskiing Team is a great option, especially for freshman looking for reliable transportation to Stowe. As the president of the team, I know this better than anyone. We run vans to the mountain EVERY DAY that stowe is open second semester, and every weekend it's open first semester (which is only 1-2 weekends.) New this year we're also going to send a van down to Killington to get some skiing in before stowe opens which I'm stoked about.
There're a lot of other great reasons to join the team beyond transportation, but our van system is almost reason enough. When you're hopping in a van in front of your dorm in the middle of January, you're gonna be glad that you're not walking all the way across campus to get on a school bus or waiting for a friend that may or may not be too hungover to drive to the mountain.
That being said, the SSC is a rad crew. Team membership includes membership with the Club which will get you into all their movie premieres and events fo free.
