ComptonKushI have a machete that was gifted to me by my landlord. I have had my home invaded and honestly I don't feel safe discharging a gun in a home where there are other people living. Bullets can fly through walls and shit.
You don't need a gun. My neighbors got their home invaded at gun point and they took the invader out with fucking SCISSORS they had to react quickly and one of the housemates stabbed the guy with the gun, shots got fired and no one was hit.
The guy and his accomplice fled the scene with stab wounds and was picked up at the hospital and is looking at a 20 year sentence for discharging a weapon in home invasion.
Guns don't save lives, quick thinking and problem solving saves lives. Sometimes people don't have time to grab a gun and who wants to always be strapped up with a gun on the hip? thats just psychotic.

ComptonKushIm not I shoot guns and know how to use one. When there is someone already in your house at 4:00 am running around there is a chance that a shot will miss and hit a roommate through their wall and I am not willing to risk that unless there is something seriously gone wrong.
People that advocate everyone should have a gun is ridiculous. There are many people who can't shoot worth shit. If your in the area and they don't know how to hit their target why is it wort it to put more lives at risk.
Be a fucking man and take the guy out without a gun. In close combat guns are useless. Learn some martial arts and man the fuck up. Guns are not needed most people that are aggressive and start shit like a home invasion don't know what the hell they are doing and are easy to take out. ComptonKushI have also been versed in how to shoot 9mm berreta since I was 10 years old so I can hit a target no problem. There is more than just owning a gun, if you are wanting it for protection. You have to know what you are dealing with and need to know how to use it.
At the momment I don't own a gun because I wish to not live with a combat weapon in my house. My home is an establishment of peace and sanctity. I do not want to have to flex behind a gun like some NRA dumb ass. Maybe eventually Ill have one but not now when I live with quite a few people who drink a lot. There baseball bats and other things that can be used if there is an actual problem.

LonelyI just think it's bullshit how people say they need an assault rifle to defend their homes. Any urban specialist will tell you a rifle is a horrible idea to use in a close quarters situation, especially if their are other inocents. I have a very nice sog that I keep right where I can reach it under my bed. Because I know if I don't have time to get up and use that I would have time to use a firearm either. The easiest solution is to get security system for your house and nice big deadbolts for your doors and windows. You could get those for the same cost of a nice firearm. I only own one gun. Have never had a need to use it outside the range. Have used my knife much more often.
deNebMost people with "assault rifles" or whatever you wish to call them use the defense argument to justify their need to own one. In reality though, 99% of people use them purely for recreation or hunting.
