Replying to Mbp storage solution

So I purchased a new mbp today, with a 228 ssd drive. While this is enough for any daily use, I will run into space issues with photos and videos (I knew this when I bought it). I already have a 1tb drive that I use as a system backup drive, but I'm looking for a secondary external for photos and videos and stuff like that. I'm basically just looking for a way to have easy access to these files when I need to (mostly at home, anything else and I'll move them to the computer). Any recommendations? Thoughts on wireless drives that can automatically connect when I'm home and working on editing? I know there are tons of options, I've just never had to use something like this in the past.
