So I've always ridden 166 size skis, they go about up to the bottom of my forehead without shoes on, but I feel like when k grab it takes a bit more effort to reach, also when I see it in video it looks almost like the skis are too short, not south style. Lol obviously styles in the skier but ya know what I mean? Idk, I've ridden the 171's but honestly it really felt very different. How hard is it to get used to a new size? And how hard is it to learn the spin and weight again?
Dude its a difference of 5 centimeters. It's probably a physiological placebo effect you're having. I rode 171s for the beginning of the season, but I grew an inch and now I'm on 179s.
I rode 148s this season (Ive grown 5 inches since then, I'm now 5"5) and I've switched to a 168 and 170. You should be just fine. It will take a few days to adjust to, but overall it will be great. I used to use womens boots and switched to Full Tilts which are light but they felt real heavy compared to my women boots. After a week they felt just as light as the Womens. Just adjust and you'll be fine.
