ON3P Billy Goats

I bought BG Tour's 2 years ago and they are hands down the my favorite pow specific skis i've ever owned. They aren't described as strictly a charger, but they can haul some serious ass. Ive never toured on them, but they never struck me as heavy. They are deff. more of a directional ski, I mounted mine -8cm. If you can get a good deal on them, go for it for sure.

If you want a stiffer, directional powder(large amounts of powder) ski, they will change your life. Deftly stouter ski, but you can haul ass and turn fast in deep snow.
I'm 5'9'' 165lbs and own 186 BGs. Ski Colorado.

Yeah I aactually mounted them at -6ish originally, but the tips were diving when I drove them really hard. Im a big dude, 6'2 215lbs, so I think I just needed more ski up front.

i was looking into buying them at one point, they look way sweet. too bad onep is way outa my money range :( tons of people told me great stuff about them though

seriously. Ability to Handel anything from deep light powder to mixed density sloppy seconds and old snow. It has the power and stability to rocket through just about anything and point it out of tight chutes, while still maintaining the ability to ski through trees at speed and turn on a dime.

it has, and will continue to be, my go to ski for soft snow.

My go to ski for directional soft snow riding hands down.

Mount on the line with RES equipped skis and don't get backseat. Otherwise, tear up the local mountain and enjoy the instant pivotability and stability that is the BG.

Get them I have heard really good things about them.

On another note, how do they compare to wrenegade 112s?

I have the OG 2011/12 BillyGoatt 191's. i am 6'4" 210lbs with everything on. They have likely changed a lot since then, so take this with a grain of salt...

They are charging skis. Dont ever get this twisted, and they wont let you forget it. you need to be listening to death metal, having just taken a wiff of smelling salts, ready to charge or they will not ski great. they are skis for fast skiing, not playful jibbing, or skiing less than at a frightening speed. their stompability is absolutely incredible and you will feel like hugo harrison when sending cliffs. there is no speed limit on these, and they will kick your ass if you dont ski with your foot on the gas and with technically sound form- ie Front-fucking-seat. They are also very heavy and allow you to just blast through quite literally any snow conditions- they even lay down GS groomer turns at mach loony speedy thanks to their rigidity.

HOWEVER they ski quite poorly in trees, and are just unwieldy at slow speeds. they are not playful, they are too heavy, stiff, and rear mounted to be poppy and jibby. these are not they skis for mellow days on the hill. these are the skis for powder days where you want to flash some rowdy lines, and do your best FWT impression haha.

Ive had my best days ever on these skis, but since i didnt have another fat ski, i wished i was on a different ski 50% of the days i took it out. I just picked up bacons to fill in that hole in my quiver. But anytime the snow is fresh and im looking to get rad, or im just looking to scare my self with speed that day these will be the skis i take out.

12/13 and after BG were all built with Reverse elliptical side cut(fancy rocker).
I was thinking about buying some close out 11/12 BG but was convinced by iggyskier to buy the 12/13 model. SO glad I did. It's main desire is to haul but I can handle trees well on the 12/13.

I personally thought those skis killed it everywhere, especially the trees. I had a lot of amazing days on those skis and most of those days were 1-2' fresh with 90% of those turns spent in tight fall line trees.

I still have 191 12/13 BG's and 186 13/14 BG Tours in my quiver because of how much I enjoy the BG's in the soft snow and especially their agility in the trees and tight stuff.

I wouldn't doubt you would prefer the 186 in the trees though :)

The extra 5cm isnt the only change to the two skis in that size up. They are stiff, chargy, and rip it till you cant sorta skis. If you want something jibby and friendly, go grab a Kartel or older Caylor.

Not to scare anyone off the BG btw. We still have the Wren for the real lunatics.

I don't know how you got that feeling from them. Maybe you're just a better skier than me... But that's impossible because im the best damn skier on the mountain!!

All I know is that those skis are not the skis for sunny days when I'm super baked, kinda lethargic, and want to fondle the curves of the mountain with my skis, while listening to James Taylor tell me I have a friend in him.

The 11/12s weren bad, just too specific for my liking. But when there is sunny skies, new snow, and big-time terrain, I wouldn't want any other ski.

Unfortunately with 4 years of hellish drought, those days have been few and far between for me. But when they did happen... Yee-fucking-haw!!

I had the first gen BGs and while they were scary in anything but pow they were amazing in fresh. Definitely a game changer for me.

Fast forward to the new RES BGs and holy shit- talk about a compliant ski! Lays down turns on groomers and floats like a dream on pow. That elliptical sidecut is some killer stuff. I found the tours to get deflected a bit in chop or sun baked snow so I really wish I had gone with the regular core but the general shape skis smooth as a baby's ass. Very fun in the trees. Amazing in fresh. The tips initiate very easily and the tails wash out very predictably.
