Greyhound bus lines hate thread

I'd jump in if this was an NJ transit hate thread.

When I was in high school, before I had a car, I used to take the greyhound from Connecticut to Vermont and new Hampshire all winter long. In the eyes of my youth, it represented freedom from the confines of my suburban upbringing, and an opportunity to experience the world as my fore fathers would have wanted me to. It was the American dream, for 15 dollars could sweep me away from what I knew as hardship, and deliver me to the snow-capped land of my dreams. Without greyhound buses, I never would have been cultivated into the ski bum I've become so proud to be.

And to think you hate it, as Hitler hated the Jews, because of traffic delays.

i once spent 52 hours(50 longer than we were supposed to) at gas station in the middle of nowhere because the greyhound dropped us off there and the bus that was supposed to pick us up never showed... no one knew what was going on and every time any of us would try calling the customer service, the person would just hang up on us.

another time there was two air force guys(one white, one black) trying to get home to see their relatives after returning from over seas. in the night the AC unit broke and leaked all over the black guy and his dress clothes. after kindly waiting until we stopped he asked to retrieve a new shirt to which the driver replied "sit your black ass down and shut up. this is my bus, my rules". being at a rest stop(for an hour or so) the guy opened the bay door, got a clean shirt, and closed it within 2 minutes. The bus driver came out of the bathroom, saw he was wearing a different shirt and lost it, like rage screaming lost it. 8 police officers show up within minutes, the driver is yelling absolute nonsense about being attacked by this guy. The entire bus is defending him and trying to explain the situation, the cops are perplexed and the driver refuses to drive anymore until the air force guys are arrested and escorted off of "greyhound property". the two of them concede and try to leave because they realize how insane this driver is, who then refuses to let them get their bags. the police have to get involved again to get their bags and then leave with the two air force guys. the rest of the bus boos the driver, who turns around and goes "all your lives are in my hands so keep pushing your luck!"

I don't hate it because of traffic I hate it because they take your money then fuck you over. which I guess is why hitler hated jews actually.

Wait you guys actually go on greyhounds? I always found them to be pretty expensive and slow, id rather just drive or pay more to fly.

i once had a hells angel named "sticks" sit next to me and take me under his wing and then told me the fine brandy he brought was laced with muscle relaxers and pain killers, after he coerced me into sharing some with him.. i fell asleep to him crying about "young michael would never do anything to those children. he loved them!" and woke up to him threatening to kill the only black guy in the train car for stealing him MJ collection of cd's that he just bought at a thrift store. The same guy coincidentally was on the same train as me on the return trip a week later where he told me he was trying to get to south dakota where a federal judge owed him a favor that he wanted to collect on so he could legally become a bounty hunter but couldnt because of his felonies..


and evan, not everyone is always fortunate enough to own a car or be able to afford plane tickets. obviously some people are more open to interesting experiences that they would have never expected to find themselves in which later become stories they can look back and laugh at. there is a market for both greyhound and amtrak, as absolute garbage as the american ground transportation systems are, or they would not exist.

hahahah that sounds wild. I've never experienced anything like that on an Amtrack or Greyhound, though I did hook up with some girl on a Greyhound. I feel like trashy experiences like those are specially reserved for shitty bus corporations. girl could give some head i'll tell ya whut

I ship with them on a weekly basis and haven't had incident with them in what seems like years. My dad also used to be like a bitter racist old man until he befriended a black guy at the bus depot and now they're best buds, so that's gotta be worth something?

Sounds kind of cool that driver is the man for not putting up with any shit I'd have got his number and seen if he wanted to grab a beer together and talk about Nascar and immigration.
