Sitting here wondering what I'm doing. School will be starting soon, and I just wanna ski.


SO ANSWER THE QUESTION, what are you doing with your life? Are you an adult working a job? Are you a kid getting ready for school like me? Or do you own a monkey farm and sell monkeys for millions of dollars?

driving trucks until the seasons done, hopefully get some labor shit after that through september until the snowy season.


I have a pair of joysticks I need to mount, I need to find a car, and I need to buy a pass. Gonna be 19 rockin out my parents basement because fucking rights, and they like having me around so it's cool. My parents are not regular parents by any means necessary.

To sum it up, I'm being my parents kid for a couple extra years while I get some experience under my belt and my class 1 drivers license.

Graduated from college about a year ago and have been working in a research lab studying neurodevelopment and epilepsy. I'm applying to med schools now and have some interviews coming up within the next few weeks. This process is so damn nerve wracking.

I will get my degree from the uni this year. Once I graduate I am going to start working as a white slave trader. But first, I need to get some more experience working in a larger hotel. The motel I work in right now has given me tons of experience because I'm the only one on staff during my shifts. I just need a bit of experience on the corporate side before I branch out.

I've been at my job for almost three years now and while I love my co-workers, not a huge fan of the community and the job itself is not really what I want to be doing. I'm starting to look around and see what's out there. Do I stay with the government (very solid income and benefits and some freedom to move around to different areas) or do I move the the private or non-profit sector?

Also, moving is the worst, but I can't see myself here for another year...

Sometimes I don't like adult-ing.

I'm laid off, got a pass and mounted my skis. I got a miata four days after I posted that, and I see no change in my current living arrangements for a while. Plus, no matter what anyone says chicks dig guys who can get along with their parents.

CaseyTwo winters ago the PNW had kind of a late arrival, it snowed like 5 feet in January and then limped along until spring. I didn't get to ski much because I had just bought a house and was balls deep in moving and all the homey shit that goes along with that. So last year I was all geared up to ski a ton but unfortunately it just never showed. My first time out touring in December before the resort opened I had a really close call in an avalanche and so I didn't take advantage of the few times I could've gone because I had a bad taste in my mouth. So THIS YEAR pretty much has my sanity riding on it. No one is hungrier than me. It going to be 90 degrees out tomorrow fuck that I am ready for winter.

There seems to be a perpetual feeling of "we'll get there," but I have a feeling that lasts until the end.


My parent's gave me great advice on getting to the mountain as an adult; Become a coach and then you have a reason to go every weekend. It is not for everyone, but it almost requires you to show up every weekend.

Just move to revy. I left Saskatchewan and it's been the best decision. The people in 306 are actually pretty dumb I've found. They hate being progressive.

I've been out in Alberta the past 2.5 years. I still like SK, but can't see myself moving back anytime soon. Ha ha

Have we met before? I'm Reis I skied mission lots with the crew there. Back when there was like 6 in the group haha. Moved to revy in 2012 and just spent a few summers in sask. It's nice to visit but don't like living there.

Been grinding the corporate grind for 8 years now. Career is finally positioned in a good place to propel upward and I constantly battle the feeling that I could be doing something much cooler. But we can't all have glamorous jobs. I'm fighting that "millennial" sense of motivation for greatness regardless of failure.

On my second house and have one new car and one shit car that I'll drive into the ground and then buy another new car. Married. No kids. No plans for kids. Dogs that take up my whole heart.

5 years in the ski industry and still here. sick of the corporate bullshit but absolutely adore the work i do. I am learning how to weld and getting my NDT cert this winter which is dope and once that happens i'll be a level 2 mechanic and get a hefty raise. Trying to get my poop in a group and buy some property in the next year or so.

I am in my mid 20's, i ski bummed for a couple years after college and now I teach 6th grade. I ski weekends and run a snowboard company on the side, its not bad, but I still wish I was making $10 an hour tuning skis and skiing 150+ days a winter.

just trying to figure out what I like. im a hospitality management major atm and enjoy getting people stoked on their vacations, probably will dabble with ski resort property management stuff till I find something else. really in the end run, I just want to keep doing stuff I enjoy that keeps me in the mountains and skiing.

Going through a wave of considering going back to teaching. I would feel a bit more fulfilled knowing I'm teaching......rather than leeching off of corporate America in a job that is not actually necessary.

Give it a couple days....I'll realize my Jon ain't that bad and I'm not willing to cut my salary in half.
