I am set on attending UVM after I graduate from high school and I recently visited their campus and they have clubs that get you great discounts on local mountains. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with UVM or just skiing while at college in general
Skiing in college isn't that difficult as long as you plan well and stay on top of things. Most colleges you have MWF classes and TR classes. During the winter if you can get all your classes on one set of days you'll have the other days open to ski.
I don't know the ski areas around UVM but if they have night skiing and you'd like to ski at night then earlier classes are your best bet. If you would like to ski morning/afternoons then you could try to schedule night classes.
I would recommend taking an extra class fall semester to free up some time spring semester because thats when you'll be doing the most of your skiing. Keeping up with school work was easier for me while skiing because I had motivation to get my stuff done right away as opposed to waiting so that was nice. I was able to ski 60 days this year and actually did better academically than I did fall semester.
