What is the plastic material used on the top of boxes?
For creating a box for my summer setup, would it be better to get this material or use something like PVC pipe?

teflon66If I were going make myself an HDPE sheet box, would something like this work: http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=36167&catid=705
It's cheap and I'd just get a bunch of those to make a box.

MRodenas its been said HDPE is stupid expensive. When we were building features at the hill I worked at, it was around $200 for a 4'x8'x1/4" sheet. If you're going to use it, don't go any thinner than 1/4" or else you'll have problems with the material cracking.
Swandog7If you were to make a box get atleast 1/3 thick which is much more expensive. I honestly made a 1 inch box with 7 2INCH pvc pipes that works just fine. I don't really use it ever in summer but will a bit more in winter. Honestly if you are fairly decent don't build a box. If you are learning swaps and such then make it. I woukd take the pvc route. If you want I can send you pics on how I built it
DaskiNot trying to hijack the thread, but where can you find big green PVC pipes? And for how much?

teflon66If you don't mind on sending pics, that'd be sick. Thanks.
