Skiing comp or film skier?

Many have been talking about how competition skiing for freestyle is better or worse then a freeski film skier. i think that a freeskiing film skier is more likely to make the sport grow. The slopestyle olimypic coaches have taken the fun out of skiing. theres a lot of drama involed. I think that the coaches have to be hard but go just a little to far. Its like a kid spends 4 years training and becomes last in the finals. its great for the other guy that wins but is just a waste of time for the last place. In film skiing you can make the sport grow travel skiing in different areas learning new wacky tricks and skiing urban. I think comp skiing will soon be completely out.

LOL I guess you dont understand the fact that contest skiers have just as much fun as film skiers.. They also travel the same if not more than film skiers to different places and are always learning new tricks.. generally, they all do some film stuff aswell.

Which one will grow the sport?
Definitely comp skiing- Comps like the x-games reach a huge amount of people who have never skied that may now want to try. How many non skiers are going to watch a ski film?

These past 2 seasons our pass sales have increased significantly. Our learn to ski packages have been selling like crazy too. Maybe its just a "coincidence" that this happened after the olympics, so I won't credit that for the recent increase. But I can almost guarantee the average person learning to ski hasn't seen a ski specific film...
