There is a reason this is a free upgrade, and it has nothing to do with the some kind of charitable spirit.
MS are doing a google, and without carefully going through the privacy menus every single thing you do on Win10 will be sold to ad-agencies.
Good to know. I figured I wouldn't bother with windows 10 until I'm back at school where I have fast internet. Picked up a surface last week though, and I don't have any files on it yet, so I figured it couldn't hurt to do all the updates/maybe it would get better battery or something. Seems cool so far, but I haven't had too long to play around with it.
