I was a lifty last year at a small hill close by. It was a cool job and it had a couple perks but it also really got in the way of skiing. I worked weekends due to school and wasn't allowed to ski before or during my shift which sucked because I worked mid day to close. I don't think I would like to do that this year.
I would like to get into instructing though at the same hill. I think I was a good worker, never called off and was always on time. Never pissed any of my bosses off, got in trouble or anything like that and always worked hard. How likely/hard would it be to switch departments? I've been skiing my entire life and I think I'm fully capable of teaching kids how to ski.
Do you have to be certified in anything? and how could I go about doing that? Also what else is there to know/ do before applying that could help me get hired?
Thanks, NS!
