Help me make a life decision

I need some input for skis for next year.

I want a pair of Jessies but I'm not too sure what to get(86, 100, or 112). Right now I have K2 Empress's from 2 years ago that don't have any major damage. They were incorrectly mounted back a few centimeters but as a new park skier I was told it wouldn't matter and was too stoked to try my skis so I said it was fine and took them as they were. They're meh skis, decent for park, bad for anymore than 6 inches of snow basically. Lately I have been spending a lot more time out west and farther east where I would like something more pow/big mountain friendly.


I think I have 3 options.

1. Buy Jessie 86s for park because thats what I ride 50/65 days a year.
This would be the cheapest option, I also demo'd them and fucking loved them

or

2. Buy Jessie 100s, use those for when I go out west and still be able to use them for park on occasion. Also keep my K2's and have them remounted to center so they can be like my main park ski.
This would be more expensive, I demo'd these too and loved them as well.


or

3. Get Jessie 112s and only use them for pow and keep my K2's as my park ski(remounted and everything as said before). I would have a pow ski and park ski.
This would be the most expensive option and I didn't get to demo them - but they would be best for pow.

Don't know where you ski but if it's vt or up north or out west Id go with the 100's. So versatile and fat enough to make a pow day real fun and still lay tracks on groomers.

Just remount your old skis from a different shop. If they're strictly park skis who cares they will get beat up quickly as all park skis do. When you pound your skis on solid ice and metal all day wh cares if you have some filled holes from your old mount.

Another Idea is to just buy a new pair of cheap park skis. SO many good deals online Righ now

Id say go with the 112's. If the snow gets deep you will be glad you have a wider ski. The 100's are going to be great skis, but you already have skis for park and it seems like too much quiver overlap. You could totally rip the 112's everywhere on the mtn just fine anyway as well.

I ski in the western New York area. i usually go to vermont at least twice a season and spend 2-3 weeks out west.

With 112s I don't think I'll have a use for them here(in NY) but they would be awesome for out west and pow. 100s would be perfect for my home hills and I think they would also be good for the trips I take.

I think I'm leaning towards 100s because i can get the most use out of them.

Yea I'd go with 100s too, as you can easily do anything with them

Phase 1: Buy Jessie 100
Phase 2: ?
Phase 3: Profit

I would go 100 first. If K2's still have life left in them, remount and rock them until they need to be replaced. The 100 will be a lot more versatile than the 112, and the 86 is unneeded until your K2"s are done, so no reason to spend money there until you need to.

100's, My primary ski touring ski for DEEP rogers pass day was the moment Belafonte at 105 underfoot.
100 will be perfect, sure a fatter ski is awesome when its real deep but for a "do everything" ski 100 will be fine, still have great edge hold for bigger mountain skiing when the snows packed in, still float fine in pow and then you have your k2's for park skiing.
Then just start collecting more and more skis until you have 9 pairs sitting in your basement.

100 is enough for everything. I ski the Atomic ritual with 103 underfoot and it is more than enough for Snowbird except a few big dumps before everything is tracked out.

Any time you get new skis I would recommend you hang on to your old ones. Even with ON3Ps being as tough as they are, you will want an older pair of skis for those early and late season days where you are hitting rocks at all times.
I voted 100s and keep K2s. If there was a 86s and keep K2s I might have voted there.

I have a pair of moment vices and was looking at doing something like you Mingg. I'm getting a 95 waist to do The exact same thing. 50/70ish days are park. I would go with the 100s.

Yeah that makes a ton of sense actually. I didn't think of that! I have a summer set up too and go to a few pre season rail jams so it would be nice to keep my old pair for those.
