onenerdykidI am in Austria, but I'm still American and pay taxes, etc. While I agree that Dawa and Sharia would erode any chance of democracy, the fact remains that Trump actually is eroding our constitution and democracy. His new religious freedom executive orders arguably help pave the way for Dawa to be implemented. Never forget about that. He needs to forget the hopelessly pathetic wall between us and Mexico, and strengthen the one between church and state. Right now he is literally eroding the wall between church and state and that is fucking scary with real world consequences. If you want to keep Islam from gaining a hold politically and socially, you need to keep religion in general out of politics, not pave the way for it to work itself further in. And if Europe can actually stand by that and achieve it, then they will be in a better position than the US.
Right, taxes on worldwide income if you're a U.S. citizen, it's a disgrace. Do your deductions for Austrian taxes not eliminate your U.S. tax burden?
I suppose it's purely subjective, rather than fact, that Trump is eroding the Constitution and the republic. I could say the same of Obama's eight years. So far I haven't seen anything that has been that erosive, besides perhaps the mass-hysteria on the Left for any and all things related to his presidency (even the aspects they have claimed in the past to agree with).
Now, and in this case I'm actually curious, why is there so much fear over Trump's wall. My opinion is that Democrats fear most that it will be a resounding success. Take's Israel's border "wall" along the border with the Sinai. Before they had tens of thousands flooding across the border, now it's no more than a handful. Also, you being in Austria have directly benefited from Hungary's very successful border barriers.
Or are you making the claim that neither of these border "walls" have been anything other than successful?
Mexico is quickly becoming (if it isn't already) a narco-terror failed state, that cannot be compared to even Colombia at its worst. The only place with more intentional homicides is fucking Syria for Christ's sake.
No, the truth remains that the Left enjoys the chaos that they sow, both in Europe with the fake-refugee "crisis" and the U.S. - Mexican border. The lengths that leftists have gone to protect deporting even the worst criminals is mind numbing, you wonder sometimes how some people can be so evil, while still holding onto the illusion of being good "humanitarian" people.
I will agree that his executive order on allowing religious institutions to participate in politics in inadvisable, but let's not be so naive as to believe that it's not happening already. Especially among all the "progressive" Christian organizations. And let's not pretend that Hamtramck, Michigan doesn't blare out the call to prayer every morning without consequence.
If you want to keep islam from gaining a hold politically and socially, keep islam out. There is no other way that has ever worked.
Also, you're a reasonable guy, but frankly its laughable to claim that Europe (besides sections of Eastern Europe that have resisted islam) will be better off in terms of religious conflict than the U.S., unless of course leftists have their way flooding the country with millions more muslims.
How exactly do you plan to keep islam out of politics once muslims are 20, 30, 40, 50 percent of the population? It has never been kept out except by dictators. In Europe, muslims will continue to form completely separate parallel and hostile Sharia societies, which Europeans will be too cowardly to combat.
You and I both know this is true.
