No I see that you agreed with me, I pointed out the lack of consistency in this aspect of judging performance on the other page when I compared it to the GOPers harping on Obama for the state of the economy despite the the constant rise over the previous 8 years.
Just a different manner of doing it. It has to be consistent for everyone. Positive and negative movements in the stock market will be attributed to Trump and his campaign as it stands, but broader economic changes cannot be, yet. He hasn't enacted any policy changes, I'm pretty confident in saying that is almost everything that is occurring now in the broader economy is just lag from the Obama administration.
Moving on. It'll be interesting to see if this AHCA gets passed. The far right, center, and entire left hate it. Only some of the middle-to-right GOPers like it.

There obviously is a correlation, but again, just because it is rising does not mean the general wealth of the country is rising with it. There is going to be A. a lag and B. a discrepancy in wealth that will be geared towards the upper class.

Nah I know enough about it that I know it can't change dramatically because of 60 days. But people in the business world are more optimistic and it's helping everyone. GDP is supposed to show economic prosperity but yet it didn't waver as much as the DJIA in around 2008. There's gotta be some value to that

1. Dow Jones, S&P 500, etc. are awful indicators of economic strength (at least in the short run, long run is a different argument). Neither really encompasses the entire country (wasn't this the argument everyone was making against Obama?) and frankly only less than 50% of the US population is even invested in the stock market.
If you're in the top 1%, you love it. If you're not, it has little bearing.
2. Name me any sort of economic proposal that was passed by the current administration. Cutting down the Federal Government doesn't count as that, again, is a limited effect on the country as the whole (one may even say negative due to the sudden unemployment for some workers).
And don't point to the deficit either, that was due to tax revenues and how certain governmental payments were acquired.
And if you point to the job numbers, how did we suddenly go from ~48% unemployment to ~4.7% seeing as under Obama these numbers were fake/doctored.

Yes, a few companies pledged to keep jobs here (many already had prior plans to do so) but at the same time others left. The difference is, the ones that stayed were trumpeted as successes while the ones that left were ignored. More of the same over the past ~20 years.
Yes, the stock market has done well. But as stated above, it isn't a great indicator of the economy in the short-run.
Yes, the debt has decreased. But if you''re to look at the debt level changes you'll see much of it came from Intragovernmental holdings. This indicates there likely were tax revenues and other payments that were recognized.
If you're to believe Trump, unemployment went from ~48% to 4.7% in less than 60 days despite no economic plans being enacted. Not too much to say about this.
And frankly, no one outside of his own administration believes he can reach 4% growth.
This is what the Fed put out earlier this month.
Let's also take note that Trumps economic plan hasn't yet taken place. Trumps proposals won't take effect till fiscal year 17/18. Right now it's a mix of Obamas economic plan, and natural market forces which the president doesn't control anyways.
