There he goes again, making excuses for Russia. And again, we see his lack of knowledge surrounding international politics and history.
Romania is a member of NATO, joint military exercises are not unheard of and actually happen a lot. If he were to look at a map he would see that its border is on the Black Sea and very close to Crimea.
If we want to look back historically, one would see that post-WWII Romania lost several territories to the USSR (which it has since regained) and was a member of the Warsaw Pact as well. It has a history of sharing borders with former USSR/Russian territories (Ukraine and Moldova) and given recent events in Crimea and statements by Russia, it is not unsurprising that they are worried about a potential invasion/spillover from a conflict in Ukraine.
Additionally, their naval forces are quite small as well, with only 3 frigates, 1 sub, 4 corvettes, and 3 missile corvettes. The Russian Black Sea fleet for reference has close to 60+ ships. Running a military exercise in this region isn't surprising given this information.
It's funny that he believes in voter fraud in the US, yet believes the Ukrainian/Crimean annexation was legitimate. If one were to examine that link, they would see that the experts and citizens interviewed believed that the vast majority of Sevastopol voted in favor for unification, (50-80%); in Crimea various data shows that 50-60% voted for unification with Russia, but only with a turnout of 30-50%. 50-60% of 30-50% means somewhere between 15-30% of eligible voters actually voted.
Obviously he is going to say "well they should have voted" but there is evidence that intimidation and violence towards anti-unification voters muted turnout. This is not to say that there may not have been legitimate majority support, but to claim that the vast majority of Crimean's wanted unification with Russia is wrong. We haven't even discussed the legal merits of it (which there really aren't any).
Of course he makes excuses for the private servers, but Kellyanne, Spicer, Bannon, and Kushner all use rnchq.org email accounts. He can't really believe they don't transmit sensitive data from those accounts can he? Additionally, the RNC email system has been hacked in the past, so why continue using them? Should we even begin to mention his Mar-a-Lago dinner that saw civilians watch him and PM Abe handle the NK missile launch? How about his unsecured phone that he tweets from?
And again, we see the lack of awareness of international politics, equating Iran as an enemy and Russia as an ally. Churchill and Reagan are rolling over in their graves.
