There is no issue with voters believing a smaller government can be more efficient or believing in a different mix of fiscal and monetary policy than liberals, but when you move onto the social side of things, the Republican Party will only survive because of people who on the whole are less educated than their liberal counterparts.
I am not saying all republicans are uneducated, but percentage wise I believe there have been numerous studies that show they are.
