vailsux.comThis is such a load of garbage. Buddhists in Tibet have violently revolted a number of times and manage to self immolate on a somewhat often basis. Their Buddhist friends over in Myanmar certainly put their Islamic counterparts to shame when it comes to violence.
Why are they so violent in Myanmar? Look at the example you quoted before this.
This is exactly why I specifically referenced Tibetan Buddhism and not Myanmar. The level of violence coming out of Tibet and specifically from Tibetan Buddhists is not nearly as high, compared to either the Middle East or Myanmar, and it has been under oppressive occupation for 60+ years.
And it EXACTLY proves my point that actions follow beliefs. If a Buddhist monk practices violence or terrorism, he is not following the core ideology of Buddhism- he is not acting
from Buddhism. Likewise, if a Muslim steals bacon & beer from a store, he is not following the core ideology of Islam- he is not acting
from Islam. However, if a Muslim commits an act of terrorism, then it is completely plausible and confirmed by scripture that he is acting
from Islamic principles of jihad & martyrdom (especially when they explicitly state these motives for doing so).
Buddhist terrorist = bad Buddhist, in so far as his actions run contrary to his ideology
Islamic terrorist = good Muslim, in so far as his actions are completely justified by his ideology.
If you
truly believe the tenants of your faith, you will not act contrary to them. However, if you don't truly believe in the tenants of your faith, you will not act according to your faith. All of the above examples demonstrate this.
