Urban rails?

If I want to start grinding the rails around town will I need to put water or wax on the rail?

wax maybe, only if its rusty or some weird metal, usually they slide fine

water? doesn't sound smart. the first thing you'll wanna do is walk up and down it with yer ski chipping the paint and the burrs. then juast get wax and wax it down. don't get it wet though... b/c the wax won't stay good.
