Alta/Snowbird Employment Information

I have spent the last 2 season as a chairlift operator at Big Sky. This season I am moving south to SLC. My plan was to work somewhere down in the valley and purchase a Snowbird/Alta pass. That plan no longer seems attainable due to the simple fact that I don't have 1,100 to drop on a pass. So I am planning on seeking employment at either Snowbird or Alta to receive a free pass. I have a couple questions for you guys.

1. What resort is better to work for? (preferably lift opps)
2. Do employees get passes to both Snowbird and Alta? or is there some sort of discount for employees that want to ski both resorts?
3. Does anyone know what starting pay is for both resorts?

I work for Goldminers daughter at the base of Alta. We get an Alta pass and its $350 to upgrade to a alta/bird pass. They also provide room and board and 3 meals a day. Why live in the valley when you could live at the base of the mountain with no living expenses? Apply now @ goldminersdaughterlodge.com

I'm also job hunting and heard about that place ^^

snowbird I think also has employee housing, not sure if it depends on the position or not.

I'd apply to both and see if the pay is different or anything like that. Also shops like the Powder House ski shop give you a pass and you can do the same upgrade thing to get both which everyone has told me is worth it

I work at deer valley and I ski park city, canyons, solitude, and brighton for free. If snowbird/alta doesn't work out dv is the next best.

A lot of booze.

I work on the snow making team at the Bird. Pretty legit. Full time November through January and then I'm done but still get to keep my free pass.

My first day is Nov. 2nd, unfortunately the hiring process was at the beginning of October. The shifts are 12 hours long. Noon to midnight or midnight to noon. Kinda shitty hours, but I only have to work 3 days a week to get full time. I have heard it's very physical work and at some times very cold.

Yeah, it might be cold. But it's got to be better then living off squirrel meat in Colorado. I would say its a step up for sure.

Side note: Glad to hear your back in Utah.
