LonelyYou're pretty fucking dense aren't you. Just because im hard to see doesn't make it my fault when you dont look. Its not a hard concept to wrap your head around.
You really just have no idea what your talking about. Pull your head out of your ass for a moment.

louie.miragsI am not on either side of this debate but even when you look, a motorcycle is easily missed. My buddy got hit by an old lady making a left and she was just screaming she couldn't see him because of the sun. Which makes sense if you're driving west before sunset. Or my mom one time was switching lanes, she checked her mirros, looked over shoulder and a street bike was flying by and she almost ran him off the road. She looked and didn't see him. You are much harder to see. That doesn't mean people didn't look
LonelyI literally said that it is more dangerous you fuckin idiot. Yes it's harder to see. Doesnt mean that YOU SHOULDNT LOOK FOR THEM.
californiagrownYou refuse to accept the fact that motorcyclists choose to be hard to see.
LonelySure it's more dangerous to ride a motorcycle.
californiagrownA motorcycle is as safe as a car you say?
LonelyLol am I missing something here?
Lonely?????
californiagrownYou're switching around the order of the posts in order to not look like a chucklehead.
The issue is, that bikers bitch about, and refuse to accept any portion of the responsibility for a situation that they, themselves helped to create.
LonelyBut nice troll. Was really in depth
Almost seemed like a real ignoarant opinion
californiagrownSo you accept that your choice of being difficult to see, and having shitty avoidance capabilities directly contributes to drivers cutting you off, running you off the road, and crashing into you?
.Hugo.If youre on a motorcycle and want people to notice you more get some loud ass pipes. Drivers fucking suck nowadays, and people are too busy looking at their phones to even notice a semi truck rolling up behind them. Do everything you can to ensure your own safety
louie.miragsI am even nervous occasionally riding my bicycle on the shoulder because of texting and driving, and I am only going an average of 10-12 mph. Going 70-80mph on two wheels with distracted drivers is reckless
LonelyYes I do you fucking retard. As I have been saying this whole God Damn time and as others have said, distracted drivers cause an equal if not more am out of danger. And shitty avoidance capabilities? What are you on? If you had ever ridden a motorcycle you would know they are much more manuveravle then cars. Believe it or not sometimes drivers crash into motorcyclist because They. Are. Bad. Drivers. It. Is. Not. The. Motorcyclist. Fault. That. The. Bad. Driver. Is. A. Bad. Driver.
californiagrownso you accept no responsibility for intentionally being hard to see and less safe(certainly from a crash rating perspective)?
LonelyDude get out of here. You refuse to refute any of my points and are only instigating. You're not contributing anything. If you have a differing opinion at least argue your points. Get out of here
RusticlesLove boxing in jackass drivers just to piss them off. I just smile and wave if they ever get by
californiagrownis a motorcycle smaller than a car? are smaller things harder to see than bigger things? do cars provide more protection in a crash than motorcycles?
You refuse to aknowledge that the above dangers are all voluntarily taken on as a biker.
If you choose to be difficult to see, why are you getting mad when people dont see you?
LonelyHoly shit Dude. Are you for real right now? I said all those things! But a high percentage of crashes are caused by the distracted driver to. Its not just the motorcyclist fault.
louie.miragsIt just sucks that when a bike does crash or gets hit by a car, the motorcycle driver is going to get way more hurt. My mom is a RN at the hospital and says the worst victims she gets is motorcycle drivers. Whether it was the result of a distracted driver or not that shit is dangerous...
The amount of people texting and driving is crazy. I am a hypocrite because I do it too. Most of us do. I will actually admit it though. Besides that, I pride myself in knowing the rules of the road.
Here are some facts from http://www.legalinfo.com/content/motorcycle-accidents/motorcycle-accident-statistics.html
These statistics suggest what many believe to be true: Motorcycles are dangerous, which may be true, but the general public should also know they are dangerous because of their very nature—existing in the open, without protective barriers between the rider and outside elements on the road—not because of the way motorcyclists are trained to operate. In fact, during research conducted by the National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) during 2003, it was found that in all motorcycle accidents occurring between motorcyclists and cars, the motorcyclist was either not at fault or less at fault than the other driver 80 percent of the time. This statistic should clear up the misconception that all motorcyclists operate on the edge, seeking danger. The very opposite is true; most motorcyclists take advantage of defensive driving courses and other educational classes related to riding.
A frightening statistic from a 2000 study reveals how often car drivers are at fault in fatal motorcycle crashes. The study reports that in 2000 there were over 1,280 two-vehicle fatal crashes between motorcycles and other vehicles. Of these fatal collisions, the other vehicle was turning left while the motorcyclist was traveling straight in their lane or lawfully passing another vehicle 35 percent of the time. This is only one scenario demonstrating driver negligence killing a motorcyclist.
yungsteezethats annoying as shit. just mind your own business, youre not a cop
LonelyThat was very well said. Thank you. I'll still probably get a response from californiagrown saying "you don't think it's dangerous". It sucks when you watch a buddy get blown off his bike by some dumb girl texting in a tank of a surburban.
RusticlesFuck that, If you're going to drive like a shit stain and ride my ass on a busy road while I have nowhere to go or swerve in and out of traffic like you're mario andretti trying to get to the next stop light quicker then you can sit behind me until you've calmed your tits the fuck down.
I fucking love how worked up some people get about it as well. Leave a little earlier if you want to be on-time. driving like a fucking dick knuckle will not get you to your destination any quicker when there is heavy traffic.
louie.miragsYou sound worked up yourself. If someone is riding your ass in the left lane, move over, you're the problem. Not moving over is what slows traffic and is dangerous. Also, if the person passes you on the right that would be dangerous and against the rules of the road. So, lose the ego and move over.
LonelyHoly shit Dude. Are you for real right now? I said all those things! But a high percentage of crashes are caused by the distracted driver to. Its not just the motorcyclist fault.
californiagrownI never said it was just the motorcyclists fault. The biker just shared responsibility for accidents in which he is not seen despite a driver trying to do everything right.
Bikers choose an extremely dangerous form of transportation and the bitch an moan about how dangerous it turns out to be.
LonelyNo, you just never said anything about it being the drivers fault, only the cyclist. Bikers bitch and moan about the stupid drivers who text and kill us! You dickwad. We don't say "oh I hate how little protection we have" we say "wow fuck that guy who almost hit and killed me because he was texting." and yet again, you have not ridden so you would not understand
MinggLast winter my friend was driving us to Killington. She thought it was a good idea to go 60mph downhill in a snow storm and then was surprised when we ended up spinning out and hitting a ditch.
I got a ski to the back of the head and am still terrified to drive in snow
Chubz.BUT WE LIVED TO TELL THE TALE!
100% thought we were done for

onenerdykidBeing from the Northeast, I always thought of myself as a good driver in wintery conditions. When I moved to Austria and drove up to the Sölden glacier for the first time, I almost fucking shit myself. The road is no exaggeration barely wide enough for two cars (including on-coming traffic), either has no guardrail or sometimes a wimpy wooden one which would only slow your car from plummeting off the cliff, which is easily a 300 foot drop (at each turn!) as the road winds all the way up to the glacier. Driving that road in a legit snow storm had me white knuckled and in a full-on sweat.
When I reached the top and talked to some of my co-workers they told me that about 10 years earlier an Atomic employee slid off the road, his car fell about 200 feet and was immediately killed. I have no idea why they don't put up standard highway guardrails on that road. It seems like the most common sense thing to do. How 30 Dutch tourists aren't killed there every year is unknown to me haha
californiagrownSo unless I have ridden I don't have a valid opinion on the topic, and don't understand the issue?
You should never speak on racism, women's rights, or foreign affairs in that case.
Sweet logic.
As I've said before, bikers choose to be difficult to see, and then bitch and moan when drivers don't see them.
DeebieSkeebiesI wish people drove interstates/highways the way they were intended for. cruise in the right lane, pass on the left. none of this left lane cruising bullshit, then get all butthurt when someone tailgates you/passes you on the right.
LonelyNo you don't. Because you refuse to see the other side of it, and have been repeating the same thing over and over again like a broken record because you don't have anything else. And I didn't say you couldn't have an opinion. You're stance of drivers bitch and moan because people don't see them is false and out of context. As I have said before you bigot drivers bitch and moan when driver drive DISTRACTED or POORLY and dont see them. And as louiemirags post showed it is tried that most of them are caused by distracted or poor drivers. You don't understand why we bitch an moan because you don't ride. You are basing an ignorant statement off of no evidence or experience which is why you can't talk about dumbaas
You're harder to explain things to than Frenchy.
californiagrownYou just don't get it do you? People like you are the reason motorcyclists get a bad image.
californiagrownHow am I a bigot?
LonelyAgain dereacting from the conversation. You refuse to see the other side, are speaking from opinion, not fact or experience, and are continually repeating the same thing while multiple people have proven you wrong, while you continue to dig yourself into a deeper hole
HolteAnyone else do this?
When I'm driving in reverse, it's much more comfortable to look over my left shoulder than my right (despite the obvious major blind spots). Why? Because I never spin right switch. Looking over my left shoulder has been hammered into my muscle memory as the "correct" way from years of skiing. Or at least that's my theory.
californiagrownYou just don't get it do you? People like you are the reason motorcyclists get a bad image.
LonelyReally what don't I get. And nice ad hominem. You don't know what to say so you fall back on fallacies. Nice try and have a good day! This is what the results are when you try to have a conversation with a bigot
LonelyAnd I have no issue with your mom, because she did all the necessary things and that was the bikers fault for driving in a blind spot and speeding. I have a problem when your not in a blind spot and driving normally when a person does not shoulder check and hits you. That's what my issue has been all along.
cool_nameI don't really get why you guys are quoting each other when it is clear neither of you are reading a thing the other is saying
cool_nameIf you aren't in their blind spot how would they hit you when changing lanes
