I'm an expert skier looking for a ski to ride in big mountain terrain like cliffs medium to large, steep chutes and the deep. I'm 5' 7", I weigh 135. I've looked at the faction candide 3.0's, Nordics patrons and the volkl ones and twos. Just looking for some second opinions on what would be my best options.
Well you want something stable for big mtn, so maybe not something with a lot of tail rocker like the patron? I would say look at 4frnt hoji, Kye, and those skis. Maybe ON3P wrenegade as well? Maybe even billy goat? I just wouldn't pick something with a lot of tail rocker
First question is are you wanting a twin tip or are you good for a directional ski?
For twin tips what you've mentioned is perfectly fine,
For directional skis i would take serious time to consider the 2015/16 Blizzard Cochise (106 under) or the Blizzard Bodacious (118 under) Both are extremely beefy skis and a lot different from the 2014/15 models. Both have some TI in them which makes them nice and durable.
For twin tips with some Ti there are the Atomic Automatic 112 and 109s which I have not rode but have heard good things about.
Factions 4.0 and Atomic Bent chetlers are both great skis which will chew big mountain and since you are lighter will be nice to skis as they lack the metal as previous ones i've mentioned
I have mentioned a lot of skis here I hope this helps get you thinking a bit.
