Correlation between skiing and soccer

At least where I live, almost all kids that play soccer also are skiers. Is this trend similar all around? For some reason, I feel like there is some correlation between the two sports and the people they attract. Support?

The kids who play soccer here are panzies, but there are barely any skiers around here so i'd say no

i play soccer and ski, however the person who decided soccer was a summer sport in canada made a terrible mistake

For where I live, it seems like skiing and lacrosse go hand in hand. I'm doubtful that there is correlation though...

I easily see a correlatio between biking, any gliding/surfing/flying sport with skiing, but soccer? no similarity to skiing? Or mabe I got your question wrong :(

I know pretty much all swedes and norvegian ski, and that a really big sport over there is soccer, so most of teens over there would do both.

Much more with hockey and skiing. Thats part of how I never had to pizza ski cuz it felt pretty similar to hockey

Really common where I'm from, too. Could be connected in a way. In my hometown soccer isn't the "cool" sport really, rather it's football. So since snowboarding is deemed "cool," the football players snowboard. Not that there weren't skiers who were football players or non-football players that were snowboarder, but I found that to be a common trend. Could also have to do with how much the sport requires in terms of dedication also

A lot of people that play sports, also play sports. That's about it honestly.

Soccer and basketball are probably the most common sports in the states.

Most skiers in my area are lacrosse players. Lacrosse can go both ways most lacrosse players play hockey. A lot of it has to do with money as both lacrosse and skiing are targeted to economicly higher standing people. Due to high start cost

Here in Michigan, it seems like most correlation between sports is skateboarding/box=snowboarding, rollerblading/MTB=skiing. That's more than likely just happenstance but seems to be more often than not.

Soccer players could beat and out last most people on this forum at just about anything. I would say that quick feet, lower body strength of soccer players has a direct correlation to skiing.

And for those who say they cry when they go down, imagine running 60 mins straight then being in a full sprint and having someone kick you in the shins as hard as they can. Ignorant statement, NBA players are just as big of pansies nowadays anyways.

I will agree with you to an extent. A very small one. In professional soccer in certain countries such as spain, brazil, other areas that is actually something that is taught. It's called drawing a foul. If that foul could win you the game. I'm 100% against that. Soccer is also a game where you get 2 subs for 90 minutes (not whole line changes of fatass football players). Not to mention that the ball is kicked with enough force that it's not uncommon when struck in the arm the ball will break it, head will knock you right out. It has happened to me and it happens all the time. And I could bring up endless amounts of hard soccer hits. Just because you saw a few guys flip does not mean it's a pussy sport. Example being German goalkeeper hitting a guy so hard in the chest it broke three vertebrae. We may not hit as hard, then again we aren't a bunch of armored turtles. I'd invite you to call my keeper a pussy besides behind a keyboard. He's 6'6 and 240 lbs. I'm sure he wouldn't mind through on some pads and tossing your ass around. /rant
