What is John Ware skiing on in Midasu?

I've been wondering, it really looks like he's no the 114's. Seems like he would want to be on the 122's for that deep of snow... Do the 114's really handle deeeeeeeep snow that well? Or is he just using them to save weight on the way up?

114. Lighter and easier in the air.

122 are of course going to float a bit better in deep snow, but the 114 can hold its own.

So is he on the 114 or 122 in those videos? I know karl is on the 122... I'm asking this because I will probably be getting out there in 2 years or so and am wondering if the 114's would be adequate.

if a 114mm ski is not 'adequate' for you in any depth of powder, the issue is not with the skis.

Certainly not the issue, I've been rocking 113's all season and had no issues haha. It's not so much about the width, just curious as to why he was using 114's on what seemed like a pretty dedicated pow trip,
