Perhaps you need a history lesson.
Thomas Jefferson said:
'...From time to time the tree of liberty must be fed by the blood of patriots. It is natural manuer...'
You forget that this Country was founded in the name of treason, and war. Consider for a moment, what the English must have thought when the separatists broke free of England and began a revolution here.
The Law was the King, and we were the enemy. To turn on the king was high treason. Had we lost the war, every last soldier ofthe continental armies--General George Washington to the French who assisted would have been tried and hanged for treason and war crimes. We weren't Nazi's for breaking free of an oppressive King.
We wanted Liberty, and liberty was was what those men fought for, died for, and in most opinions, succeeded.
It was the actions of these men, that revolutionary war, that founded this country.
But our history of war doesn't end there.
Consider that we Slaughtered nearly every native american tribe that didn't do themselves in before our forced could get there. Not a proud moment of American history, but a fact.
Consider that a Civil war broke out and divided our states. Consider that we could have easily been the Confederate State of America, had the Confederation not suceeded to the Union.
In every case of the making of the United States, there has been a monumental war, and it is what our Country is good at. The Military will tell you if you ask them, Our business is war. It is what they do. They produce weapons, and with those weapons they annihalate the enemy at all costs.
Now we have a situation in a foreign land. Do I think we should be there anymore? No. Not with what History taught us about the land of the middle east.
IF and I stress that word so strongly, after hearing a statement like America's reflecting Nazis; IF you have done your research at all, you'll see that we're not the first invasion of their land, nor will we be the last, and we are not the first to be devestated by their insurgent attacks.
I can assure you, we are not bullies to these people. Such a statement shows arrogance, and ignorance to doubt their power.
Perhaps one should study the Hashisham, which later became the Hashashim; a word which Assassin is derived from.
During the time of the Crusades, when King Richard sent his soldiers, and knights to Alamut on their holy crusade, the Arabic answer to his forces were their own weapons of mass destruction.
It was said, though I am certain a major exaggeration, that one Hashashim warrior was the equal of ten thousand of his crusaders. Still, the crusaders were driven out. Again, and again. The Hashashim were victorious, and the same way that modern terrorists were trained, so were the Hashashim.
Modern day suicide attackers do not do it merely because they want to attack Christians. These soldiers of their own are protecting their land as they did hundreds of years ago, and I do not doubt for a moment that eventually they shall become more and more cunning, and more and more deadly so much that our forces will be without a choice but to withdrawl from Iraq.
The worst thing you can ever do, is doubt your enemy. Invade the mother bear's cavern, attack her cubs, and see who wins the battle when she arrives. We have entered her cave, we have hurt her young, and her presence is there. The enemy is nothing like we've ever dealt with, because they are beyond Guerilla warfare tactics. They attack with their own holy resolve, and with that, unless we did the same it could not be defeated because any and every single believer of their faith is a potential warrior waiting to annihalate a regiment, a faction, a base, a soldier.
American soldiers do not think like a politician. They're trained to take orders, and more so, they believe--the majority of them--believe that going there, they are fighting for freedom, and liberty for these people, in this country.
As for George Bush, I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and the President of the United States of America, whomever he may be.
There is more to decisions in this Country than what Bush makes. Consider that, even through a war that people hate, and even through a situation people disagree with, by popular and by electoral Bush won. Whether or not you voted for him, that is your personal decision and right... but the people voted for their leader, and so rich boy with a vendetta or not... this is where we are, this is what we will do, and in no way whatsoever
are we ever to be compared to Nazis. While some of our soldiers are doing atrocities that are unacceptable on every front--should be tried as war criminals--as I said the Majority are just people defending their lives and others as they believe they should... these are not internment camps. We're not executing and burning islam by the millions, and we're not even close to what Germany was in WWII.
Such a statement is a bold and hasty generalization, backed up without information of proof and based almost entirely upon personal opinion.
And.
Only in this country would you ever be able to curse the government and get away with that. Become a citizen of Russia and curse theirs, or Iran, or Arabia... Our country's biggest folly---her biggest undoing is that what her Colors stand for--what the Flag stands for, is the freedom to Burn that flag, and curse her land. I am ashamed of Americans who hate America. The country has done no wrong... just the leaders. Think before you leap, and think before you speak.
