Steezy Pole Length

I have some 44" Line Pin poles that my parents got me for Christmas that are the "correct size" for me (my elbow is 90 when holding the basket of the pole upside down)(I'm 5'9"). Although they're great for all mountain, when I ski park I
a) look like an idiot
and
b)whack rails with them all the time when spinning
so obviously I want some shorter poles. I'm thinking of cutting some old ones down or maybe just buying new ones but... What size should I use?(in inches) for maximum steeze?

I'm 5'9" as well and find 38-39" a good balance for all mountain.

That said if all you care about is looking cool and not performance you may notice a lot of pros are using longer poles then they would have in 08-09.

Thanks for the reply man. Do you ever have problems with them getting in the way in the park or can you spin on and off rails with em comfortably? Whenever I back 2 off I always whack my pole so I want to make sure that doesn't happen haha!

Cut them down to like 35 or 37. That's pretty lo g if you ski mostly park.

if thats the main issue then you may want to look at how your holding your poles.

My panda poles are like 37" and I'm almost 5'8. They are short enough to not get in the way but long enough to actually serve a purpose, and panda poles just look steezy anyway.

I'm 5"6 and use 28-30in poles. They are bent to shit though. Thinking of cutting them down to like 10in just to use for comfort. I never use my poles to push, just for comfort and control on some tricks. Half the time I don't even use poles. I recommend like 35in poles or so

I'll probably go with 36-38 then since that's exactly what I want -- to be able to actually use them but not have them get in my way

Yeah! Found some old 52" poles from the 90s in my attic so I'll cut em to 37, spray paint em and be on my way

yeah I think mine are about 34 inches or so

Yeah that reminds me OP. Height of pole depends on purpose. Adam throws down in the park so he uses a slightly smaller pole but where I'm more of an "all mtn jibber" and traverse from time to time I need some more heighth. Seriously check out Panda Poles and their size chart, it will help a lot.

.lencon is a pretty rad fella and he speaks the truth! I Definitely like shorter poles for park, but long enough I can still push myself around with them when need be.

Yea Lencon and I do the same style of riding and I'm 6'2 rocking a 38 inch pole. Perfect length imo

If you want a great upper ab workout while you are skiing around, cut your poles too short. I did it and whenever i have to push around on flats to get somewhere my abs got the best workout and now im ripped. But seriously its tiring and after a few days your stamina drops from it.
